As *** has stated, I did a job for him last fallI was referred to *** and his wife by his wife's aunt; as I had done a very similar job for her earlier in the year*** was seeking someone to tear out his old porch and rebuild it to the same specificationsWhen they originally built these old
porches, they used tongue and groove boards for the flooringWhen using tongue and groove boards in an exterior application, the floor needs to have a pitch to it to shed any water offWith no pitch, the boards will ultimately absorb the water, swell, and buckleI explained all of this to ***, but he disagreedI offered to come and "fix the porch to his satisfaction" but explained that he would have to sign a waiver that I would not be responsible for the problems that would certainly cause, immediately and down the road***'s porch was built with the proper pitch, he apparently paid someone $to come and jack the porch up, which has now caused the issues with the floorboards bucklingFurther more, *** has been slandering my name on social mediaHe states "do not use this guy". He states that his roof is crooked because of the porch, and that it was not that way before. I have before and after pictures of this job, and the roof and porch are in the exact location as the were prior to me doing the jobI have spoken with my lawyer, and she tells me that there is a very strong defamation of character lawsuit thereUnfortunately the only way for me to put an end to this customer and his accusations is going to be for me to file the lawsuitFor the record I have been in business for years, and have never had a single complaintI typically do business with repeat customers, not leaving much room for new customers***'s wife's aunt was a new customer that I was able to squeeze into my schedule and she was very pleased with the job I did for her*** practically begged me to do his job, because his wife's aunt's porch turned out so goodAlso the stairs that he is complaining about were not even in the contract, he didn't want to pay for new onesUpon removing the old stairs I discovered that they were rotten, so I rebuilt them, exactly the same as the old ones, at no additional cost to him
