Review: Last month Prime Meridian Moving was hired to move my apartment. Everything seemed fine until they started unloading. Some of the furniture was delivered damaged. When I asked the movers about it they told me that they dropped one of the pieces when loading it into the truck. I asked them how to go about getting it repaired. They told me to send them an email the next day and everything would be repaired or replaced. They refuse to answer my calls or emails. The only outcome I would like is to either have my furniture repaired of get reimbursed for the damaged furniture.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my tv unit repaired or replaced. If none of these are possible, I would like a full refund for the money I paid them so I may replace the units myself.

Review: I had hire this company to move my household from Pelham, NY, to Stamford, CT, keeping my belongings in the company's storage for three weeks. After my belongings had been delivered I started discovering that virtually every item is either scratched or bent or broken or damaged other way. After I contacted the [redacted] of the company letting him know about all this he wanted me to file a claim form stating the damages. I put on the form just three major items (afterwards I had to throw away much more). The [redacted] wanted me to resolve this without his insurance company being involved even though he ran my claim through his insurance company just to get a ballpark. And then he disappeared. In a week I reminded him via email about the issues. He stated that the weight of all three items could not exceed 80 lbs.; told that the insurance company would pay just $48, and offered a $100 courtesy check. His offer sounded as an insult as at least one of the three items on the claim form weighs 80 lbs. Yes, he gave a good moving rate but all the damages encountered by now will make roughly 30% of the rate.Desired Settlement: I want refund for the damaged items.

Review: We were scheduled to move on March **, 2014 at 9AM. Prior to the move, we spoke to the secretary [redacted] to assure that our items would be [redacted] properly and professionally. The movers did not properly pack any of my items. Due to this, the majority of my household furniture was ruined apart from other items being missing/stolen. Our bedroom furniture (dresser with mirror, tall dresser, night stands) is now ruined with stratches, water marks bumpy wood from the rain. Also, our chinet and dautghers crib were treated the same with the same outcome. We are currently missing a box full of expensive jewelry as well as my daugthers uppa stroller. They were suppose to arrive to our home at 9AM and did not arrive until 6:45PM, after midnight, 2 of the movers walked out and quit leaving 1 mover and my partner assisting with the move. The move was finished at 5AM the next day - while the new address was only 1 mile away. The owner, [redacted], came to our home the next day to evaluate the damages and agreed that the move was handled improperly and we would be attended with either a refund or replacement. He assured us to not worry that everything will be handled and to not provide him with a bad review because he would have our items replaced or refunded. He said "customer service" would contact us on March [redacted] and they never did. We tried to call the owner back repeatedly to no avail. On April[redacted], we were able to reach him to have him offer advise us that he has a "small company" who does not have the money to refund or replace any items and that they cannot handle a large lost of income and due to this he can only offer us $100 for our damages and lost and hung up on us after I refused to accept $100 for our stolen items and for all of the damages on all of our furniture. He has not returned nor picked up any of our calls.Desired Settlement: I would like our items replaced or refunded, not offered $100 which is an under estimate of the damages.

Review: This company is a moving company that (1) made false promises about moving our items; (2) repeatedly lied to us about the arrival time of their movers; and then (3) refused to move the items they were contracted to move when their movers showed up hours and hours late, blaming a modification that had been made the day before. The end result is that an entire family vacation was delayed and partly ruined.

We contracted with Prime Meridian Moving to do a move on June **. We scheduled them to move several pieces of furniture and about 3 dozen boxes. They told us they would be there the morning of June ** and took a $300 deposit. The day before the move, we called to let them know that we had pulled the items to be moved together and had more than expected. We asked if they could still do it. They said that they could, but that they would have to schedule us on a bigger truck, which already had a job in the morning, so they could not come until the afternoon. We asked what time exactly and they said "around 2 or 3 p.m." We told them this was inconvenient, because we were leaving for a family vacation, had to take a ferry boat on a strict timetable, and we were a family traveling with a pregnant woman, a [redacted]-year-old child, three other older children, and an elderly grandmother (**). But we said we would wait anyway, because we were on a strict timetable with the move. They assured us they would be there in the afternoon.

On the day of the move, they did not show at 2 or at 3 p.m. When they had not shown by 3:45, we started calling. We spoke to a dispatcher and the driver, both of whom said the truck would be coming from [redacted] and would be there by 5:45. We were repeatedly lied to by the dispatcher and the driver, who insisted (multiple times) they were on their way when they were not. We were repeatedly told incorrect times, repeatedly missed scheduled ferries and were unable to leave on vacation as we waited for the movers. We were finally forced to leave around 8 p.m. so as not to miss the last ferry, and the movers still had not arrived. We had to leave one family member behind to stay and wait for the movers. (The arrival times promised to us over the course of they day were: 2 to 3 p.m., then 5:45 p.m., then 8 p.m., then 9:30 p.m.) They did not show until 10:30 p.m. that night. Then, when they did, they refused to take the items to move. They said we had more items than scheduled. They also said they had no room on the truck, which was false, because our family member (an active duty military member) inspected the truck and saw they had plenty of room. We explained that we called the day before to tell them that we had more items than expected, and that is why they scheduled the bigger truck. They continued to refuse to move the items and left without taking them. In the end, our last family member could not leave that night, missed the ferries, missed a day of vacation and could not come until the next day. In addition, the items STILL remain unmoved.

The likely reality is that the moving company overbooked themselves, overextended themselves, refused to acknowledge that or to make that apparent to us, lied repeatedly in order to try to keep the business, and then had their own movers refuse the move because they were overextended. This company should not be permitted to take customers' money, lie to them, and then refuse to perform the contracted services.Desired Settlement: I would like the Revdex.com to make an inquiry as to why a moving company made false representations about their ability to move us, lied to us repeatedly about arrival times, and then refused to move the items as contracted. I would also like an assurance that my $300 deposit has been refunded. This company should not be in business.
