Prime Time Boxing Reviews (1)

Review: I purchased 30 class sessions with Prime Time Boxing in January. Recently, near the end of class, I felt nauseous and as the trainer directed the class to run laps outside, I walked towards the benches to sit down. The trainer told me to go run, I said I felt I had to throw up, he again said go run and he went outside. When he saw I was not behind him, he returned to where I was about to sit down. He again said go run, I said I was going to sit down before I threw up, he then stepped face to face with me and yelled "sit the [redacted] down then" and he walked outside. I sat down for a moment then collected my belongings and waited for the trainer at the front desk. He came back inside and walked past me, I then asked if I could speak to him and he stopped walking. He said, "what. I have a class" and I said, "I would like to return the remaining classes on my punch card that I purchased." He said, "no returns." I said "are you aware of the law regarding refunds." He then said "no refunds after 5 days." I asked "can I speak with an owner." He replied, "I am the owner. I am the man." I asked if we could speak about the issue or if there was a manager I could speak to because he was busy. He said "Im the man. Im busy." I asked if we could speak later. He said he would call me. The following day I received a call from [redacted] who said she was calling on behalf of Prime Time Boxing. She asked that I explain what happened and after I told her the story she said I could go to the Roseville location, I explained that is out of my travel range. I asked for a refund on my remaining classes and she said they dont do refunds then she said she would ask. Two days later, the trainer that came face to face with me called and apologized and asked me to return because he didnt want me to lose my final classes I paid for. I said I dont want to train at his facilities and would like a refund. he said they dont do refunds but he would check and get back to me. the next day I left a message and have not heard back.Desired Settlement: I purchased 30 classes at a discounted rate because I purchased in a bundle. I would like to be refunded for the remaining ten classes that I have left on my Prime Time Boxing Card. I would also like a copy of the contract form that I signed when I started classes because I was not given my own copy.

Response:

This letter is in reference to the 30 classes you purchased at Prime Time Boxing. The rate you paid for these classes was discounted to $12.50 per class because you were going to attend all 30 classes and pay for them in advance. If you had purchased the classes at our discounted rate for 20 classes, you would need to pay $20 per class for a total of $400.

At this point you have used Prime Time Boxing services that cost $400 and you paid $375. This means that you would owe Prime Time Boxing another $25 for services rendered, as the discounted rate you received is only effective if you do all 30 classes. Aside from this, we do not offer any refunds which is posted at the front desk.

You did not sign a contract with Prime Time Boxing, you signed a basic liability waiver form. If you did not receive a copy of that, we can mail one to your current address.

Lastly, in speaking with [redacted] regarding this incident, he informed me that you continually had a bad attitude and it started to become a problem within the group and was affecting the training and the other members.

[redacted] did reach out to you and apologize and offer for you to train with another trainer at the Sacramento location. You declined. In 16 years of Prime Time Boxing being open, we have never had a member complain to the Revdex.com or ask for a refund due to a misunderstanding.

If you would like to use the rest of your sessions you may still do so. If not, we will waive the additional $25 you owe us for the 20 class price; as that was how many you did.

This letter will also be sent to the Revdex.com they can better understand the circumstances.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I believe the issue at hand is that I paid for Prime Time Boxing training sessions with the understanding that Prime Time Boxing would offer a facility that is welcoming to clients, not threatening. I paid for class sessions in advance, made it clear that my work schedule was unpredictable, and was advised that purchasing individual classes was the best option.
