Prime Time Vacations Reviews (10)

We joined in Jan, 2018 and used them twice, not bad experience but nothing awesome either! Due to health issues, we asked for refund of initial investment of $6.7K and they refused pointing to the 3 day recision clause in the contract. They did agree to allow 2019 membership credit for free which we couldn't use. Have since turned our complaint over to NY State Attorney General to pursue them in Arizona (good luck with that). Contacted some timeshare escape companies advertised in the media and while Primetime is not a timeshare, thought we might get some help there. No, because they have our original payment. Only thing we can do is not pay any annual dues. Interesting to note that their website says they have closed down their sales operation. With no new contracts being generated, where's the cash flow for an ongoing business? Particularly if more and more people stop paying annual dues? Tried reaching one of the company's principals, Chris Gittens (425)882-8080. This is a Microsoft number in Seattle and this guy is not in their phone directory. Bottom line, I don't expect anything to come of this but will keep trying any leads I can find to get to someone. If their sales function is shut down, can't be good and any active member should avoid giving them funds for bookings in any form. I can imagine people in their offices running for the exits.

Contact https://www.trashyourtimeshare.com/ to get out of your contract. We bought this and quickly learned it was a total scam. By the time we did, we were stuck with a worthless product. The $1500 it cost to get out of the contract was worth every penny. This was an expensive life lesson.

I've made 5 trips since joining. None have been thru my membership as all were booked online at lower costs. I've been demanding my money back for more than one year and keep being told that I only had 5 days to ask for return of membership funds. This is not buyer's remorse, this is an example of fraud in the inception. Please don't let your friends sign up with these hucksters! I'm told today that I can sell my membership for a $250 fee but my membership must be current to do so, another $249. I've asked the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General to look into this company. You should too.

We were suckered. When we signed up we were told if you don't use the membership you don't have to pay the annual membership fee. We were also told we could sell our membership, but they will not help or broker the sale. We have not found a trip that was less than we could book online. So we refused to pay the membership fee. We've called and emailed. Our membership is on hold but we are still expected to pay the annual membership fee. My husband just talked to a customer service rep and was told we are members for life. We cannot cancel. Has anyone figured out how to get out of this?

Just don't pay anything more.

Primetime member very dissatisfied with what I purchased and promised. Have an RV and was told they could help with Campgrounds. After a year we have not been able to take advantage of their service. Was told they could buy it back if not satisfied, bull. How do I get my money back?

I just became a Primetime member, and unfortunately after 5 days I have not received a password to sign into the site. I attempted to contact the Welcome Center and repeatedly receive a message that all agents are busy. If this is how their welcome center is staffed - WOW is it too late to cancel my membership.

they suck at everything. that happened to us, and I should have been wise to cancel then, but was stupid and gave them benefit of doubt. I have been going rounds bc I never got to book anything (we were scammed last feb), and just today they called to tell me I am s-o-l. you have time to dispute the credit card charge- do it!

Review: I recieved a free voucher from a membership club in 10/16/12 after 2 weeks of that I called Prime Time Vactations and left a message due to having questions about wanting to use the voucher for 6 days past the allowed time frame. It took Prime time almost 4 weeks to respond back to me that put me then past the required 21 days from issueance of the voucher to request a spot for my trip. When they did contact me back the lady that called me said it shouldnt be a problem and to just make sure that I get the form turned in with the date I wanted to use on it with pleanty of time to secure the reservation. I did not in fact send the voucher in until August 19 2013 which I believed to be still plenty of time to secure a reservation for 9 weeks away to catalina. I had not heard anything back as of 9/16/13 so as getting concerned I called again and this time I spoke to the same lady and she now informs me that I missed the 21 day cut off and I was being denied my trip. I explained I missed the 21 days from the begining just waiting for them to contact me back about getting the ok on the travel date extention. She then explained to me "They don't have to contact me back, and its my own fault for missing the date since I should have read the voucher." which I explained I did read it hence why I called about the date extension. she became upset continued to talk over me and when I explained I would be contacting the Revdex.com and the group that issued the voucher she became more upset and I decided to end the call that was not going any where but down hill and file my complaint.Desired Settlement: I would like to be able to use the voucher for the free one night stay at catilina for my anniversay like planned.

Response:

Thank you for giving us this opportunity to address this complaint. Mr [redacted] sent a Reservation Request Card and no check in the the amount of $ 23.30 ( tax deposit) to Prime Time Vacations on 08/28/13, received by us on 08/29/13.

The provisions of this promotional offer for a trip to Catalina states that , “the reservation request card and tax monies must be received by Prime Time Vacations inclusive and within 21 calendar days of the issue date on the card or this offer is invalid. Mr [redacted]’s issue date on his card was 10/16/12 thereby rendering his opportunity to travel terminated for failure to comply with those instuctions.Mr [redacted] also signed the following declaration on the reservation request card ” I have read, understood, and agree to comply with all the General Information provisions of this promotional offer prior to completing and submitting this Reservation Request Card and my $23.30(taxes). We understand Mr [redacted]”s disappointment but we must follow the provisions of the program in order to be fair and equitable for everyone. We appreciate your understanding in this matter

Sincerely,

Director of Operations

Review: As a result of agreeing to attend a Wyndham Resorts time share presentation in Oceanside on Oct. 6, 2013, I was given a travel voucher for two adults which included roundtrip boat transportation for two, one night's accommodation at a fine hotel, and my choice of either a city tour or glass bottom boat tour of Catalina.

I did the following as requested in the General Information Provisions provided by Wyndham Resorts:

1. Sent the Reservation Request Card, completely filled out as requested, along with a $25.00 check made out to Prime Time Vacations on Oct. 7, 2013 via Certified Mail Receipt (which I did receive back dated Oct 8, 2013) to the address indicated in the General Information Provisions, well within the 21 calendar days after the issue date that I was required to do so.

2. On the Reservation Request Card I requested a travel date of Aug. 13, 2014 (I was only allowed to choose 1 date).

3. According to the General Information Provisions, it said that if Prime Time Vacations was not able to confirm my request due to the lack of availability, they would contact me via mail in approximately 7 days, and if my requested date was able to be confirmed, that I would receive a letter of confirmation back within 20 days. Neither event took place and because we incorrectly assumed that if we had heard nothing back that our date requested was approved, we took no action.

4. However, two weeks ago a family event occurred which caused us to want to change our requested date. We contacted Prime Time Vacations by phone after having failed to locate their office (only a postal mail box location is provided in their address), told them of our situation, and they sent out a letter on Feb. 18, 2014 stating that our original date was unavailable and that due to the extremely high volume of requests for the Catalina trip that they were completely sold out of the entire months of July and August and a good part of June. Now, why weren't we notified of this within the 7-20 days mentioned in Item (3) above? Had we not attempted to contact them in order to change our travel date from what we thought had been approved, we would have planned to take this trip and have been horribly embarrassed and angry to find out that our trip had never been properly confirmed by Prime Time Vacations.

5. We filled out the letter they sent to us on Feb. 18, 2014 with 2 alternative travel dates as requested on the form letter, and mailed it on Feb. 20, 2014. However, we have tried to contact them by phone during their supposed 9-5 business hours on their [redacted] and [redacted] phone numbers and either no one answers or their seems to be no way to leave a voice message. So how are we to have any assurance that they will confirm our requested travel dates within a reasonable amount of time when they did not confirm or deny our original requested travel dates in the 4 and 1/2 months since we first mailed in our request per their instructions when they were supposed to confirm or deny our travel request date within 7-20 days.Desired Settlement: We still would like to take the Catalina trip, but we need to know whether either of our two requested travel dates have been confirmed. If we can reach a satisfactory conclusion, then of course we would expect a timely refund of our $25.00 that was submitted to Prime Time Vacations with our original request on Oct. 7, 2013. Also, because we were never notified since we first submitted our original travel request that our travel date was wither confirmed or denied, we would expect the highest priority be placed on resolving this issue by Prime Time Vacations.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am rejecting Prime Time vacation's response because it is inadequate and there is no written assurance that they will honor what was agreed to even though they said they would send a written confirmation. I did receive a telephone call a week or two ago from a [redacted] of Prime Time vacations who said she was a supervisor. First of all she said that Prime Time Vacations did not receive the written request on their form which they had sent out on Feb 18, 2014--that made me suspicious as that form was mailed via USPS within 1 day after we received the form. The same thing occurred back in October of 2013 when we sent back their form via certified mail requesting a date for the Catalina trip which we were promised by Wyndham Resorts to be redeemed through Prime Time Vacations and to which they were contractually obligated to respond within 7 to 20 days indicating either that the date was acceptable or that it was not and that an alternative date would have to be selected. As indicated in my complaint, Prime Time Vacations never responded until we contacted them via telephone in early February to request a change in our date. That is why I will not accept a resolution to this issue unless it is in writing.

Now [redacted] the supervisor explained that Prime Time Vacations would accept our new date of September 17, 2014 for our trip to Catalina Island, and they we would leave by boat from Newport Beach and that our overnight stay would be at Catalina Canyon Resort & Spa, but that we would not receive whatever we needed to redeem this trip to Catalina until 20-30 days prior to our scheduled date. That leaves way too much uncertainty given how they have handled our request in the first place, so I asked and received assurance from [redacted] that she would send a confirmation letter in the mail which I have not received as of this date. I will not accept their offer until I receive a written confirmation in the mail as they are obligated to do. She asked me to contact the BB and tell them that the matter was settled, but the matter is not settled until I receive a written confirmation of what was agreed to.
