This is my written response to ***'s complaint
I am the sales person who handled this sale and I have included the owner and the previous owner in this email, please note that I speak on behalf of the company
The customer
purchased a *** from us "this vehicle was sold as is where is no warranty stated or implied by the dealer" *** signed her initials to this clause on the invoice of the purchase
when we sell a vehicle it is inspected by a third party garage who inspect and apply a two year safety inspection in the province of ***
On Janurary 15th *** purchased a *** from us
On January in the AM I found two *** posts *** U First Auto and the garage that had done the inspection so I contacted *** and told her that we were very sorry that this issue was over looked but that we had never drove the vehicle at night and I assured her if we had of known we certainly would not have cut a corner of installing light bulbs for dollars I offered to install the new lights we would buy her and she said "it's to late I had it done at a garage, I asked her if she could provide a receipt and she said yes for $**, we offered to pay this bill for her, this however did not end up happening
At this time I offered to fix the back light in the cluster of the car which was not lighting up due to being a after market cluster,we replaced it with a stock cluster
A week later I received a text message from *** saying that the night before she had put $*** into the car and she wanted to be reimbursed, I attempted to call her with no answer
a few days later at 730pm I received another text message asking for reimbursement, I then called her and she answered so I asked her why she had not called me first before spending that kind of money when I had already had a history of fixing things for her , she told me there was no time that the car was unsafe, so I asked her to provide a receipt she said she could only for the parts so I asked her who inspected the car to tell her what it needed so I could call and get a report of the work done and match it to the vehicle, she told me it was a registered and licensed garage, I asked her what the name was and I insisted a registered garage would provide a receipt for any labour done, she then told me it was a friend she knew at his house
I told *** that in any situation that a car may need work that should have been covered under the motor vehicle inspection act of *** we would take it back to the mechanic that inspected it and if he felt it needed any work we would cover any and all costs of parts and labour, however she informed me the car no longer needed work, I told her that we can not verify that the car needed any work and that with out proof of labour connected to the car we would not be reimbursing her
In conclusion we are not going to reimburse *** for any costs she may or may not have had ,she *** two small businesses on ***, that were willing to help her out then after we fixed her cluster (showing her that we in good faith stand behind our cars, she then a week later mind you felt that her car was so dangerous that she had to get a back yard mechanic to install what we calculate as under $*** in auto parts, we feel either *** was *** back yard mechanic or that she is trying to *** this is a final sale

They the U First auto are the *** stating they would fix the issues, I sat in northeast auto shop for an hour only to be told no we are not fixing anything that UFirst would be fixing the issues, as he stated all he fixed was the cluster

The mechanic who fixed the car was a qualified mechanic who has since provided me with a bill of sale
