Review: This complaint is regarding bad business practices in regards to sales and service.

On August 2, 2013 I purchased a 1990 Ford Ranger XLT from Primo's Auto Sales and Service. The ad on craigslist that I read prior to buying stated that it was smogged and runs good and when I went to go look at the truck I was told that it was in good running condition. After my wife and I made a decision to purchase the truck, we were then told that it is not smogged yet but he will get it smogged and it will pass. We decided to purchase the vehicle and take his word that the smog will be taken care of. The dealer then told us that the registration will be $145 and if we wanted to pay for it and he will register it for us or we can do it ourselves. We paid him $1200 for the purchase price of the truck as well as $145 for the registration. We have all receipts. The tags on the vehicle were due in September of 2013 but he had put a paper on the window allowing 90 days for the registration to be taken care of. We had to leave the truck with him though until he had it smogged but then when we returned for the vehicle he said it didn't pass so he had to put a new catilytic converter on it. We left it again so he could do the work on it and finally we had gotten the truck to take home. As time went by, we hadn't heard anything about the tags so we went to his shop and asked but he said he hadn't gone to the DMV yet. During this short time the ignition modulator had went out so we had it fixed. We went by his shop from time to time to check on the tags but still nothing. By November we still hadn't received our tags so we went to his shop and a worker of his said he was in Mexico. We came by a week later and he had returned telling us he will have the tags tomorrow. The next day, still no tags. Finally after a few tries, we went by on 11/12/2013 in which again he told us that he didn't have our tags. Our water pump was leaking that day and we showed him so he said he will fix it for $65. We didn't have much of a choice so he said come by later at 4 to pick it up. When we went by later we were told that it wasn't fixed and they wouldn't be able to fix it until the next day but I told him that I had to work that night so he said I could borrow a truck of his. So I used the truck of his that night for work. He told me to return it and pick up my vehicle the next day at 4pm and he would have my tags also. The following day, I returned his truck and he said my vehicle was fixed but he told me he didn't have my tags. I told him that I need my tags and I cant be driving my vehicle illegaly. He said it is okay and that I can still drive it. I said "no that is not true and that I need my tags." He then told my wife and I to leave his shop but wouldn't give us our keys to our vehicle. We then called the police and they came out and we got our keys and he told us we would get our tags the next day. When we drove our truck home, we noticed a lack in power to our vehicle but didn't want to return because it was late and didn't want any more problems. We received a call from him the next day and he said he had our tags so we went by to pick them up. I didn't mention the problems with the vehicle to avoid any problems. The next day smoke started coming from under the vehicle and through the manual stick shifter inside of the vehicle. We are not sure what is wrong with the vehicle but we never had this problem until we picked up the truck from his shop that day. I am not sure if we can be compensated for these issues but even if we can't, I would just like to warn the public about buying a vehicle from this person.Desired Settlement: I am not sure if we can be compensated for these issues but even if we can't, I would just like to warn the public about buying a vehicle from this person.

Review: I had purchased my 1993 [redacted] ranger from this establishment (Primo auto sales) 6 months ago with the agreement that he would take care and pay the DMV fee and registration, plates and etc. At first he told me its gonna take 3 weeks. So 3 weeks has gone by and I asked him if my plates has arrive yet. Then he told me something about my truck being out of state, the DMV needs to inspect if the vehicle match the VIN # on the truck. I took my truck to the DMV to get it inspect and I asked the DMV is there anything else that I need to do to expedite the process. DMV told me that I need to pay $355 for the registration fee and some other things. The DMV also request the old pink slip which Primo auto sales never included in my paper work. So I went back to the auto sales and told them exactly what the DMV told me. Of course, they said "we'll take care of it". About 3 weeks ago my truck transmission went out. I had [redacted] towed my truck to my friends house. I drove to the auto sales place 4 times and not once I can find Primo. The person that worked there called him and passed the phone to me to talk. I told him my situation and he specifically said to me that He made an appointment at the Sacramento DMV headquarter to solve this matter. Being Naive and gullible I believed him. Now I'm trying to tow my truck to my mechanic garage, but I can't even do that. No tow truck would tow my truck without the vehicle being registered or has no plates. Primo auto sales been giving me the runaround and avoided me for 6 months. I called and talked to Primo himself today(Jan. 8 2016) and asked him if he took care of my registration. His reply was "Monday, everything will be taken care of". I told him that's what he told me the 5 times. And then he said "For sure this time". I've invested a lot of my time that I had to take off from work and money put in the truck. All I want is for my truck to have the registration and license plate and the pink slip title to transfer under my name. And he's been avoiding the issue.Desired Settlement: Eversince I had the truck I spent so much repairing the truck and waiting for the paperwork. I had to take a lot of time off from work to chase Primo to ask him if he had taken care of the issue. Its been 6 months and yet he hasn't done anything about it.I've been pulled over by the city police about my license plates and also the Highway Patrol. I just want to get my truck running again, so I can go back to work.
