to resolve this matter and letting our patients know [redacted] Health Prince William Medical Center remains committed to quality service. It is important for us to know when we do not meet those expectations.During our investigation, the patients account was a zero balance on May 30. 2014. The insurance decided to retract and repay the patients account on July 15, 2014 reducing the patients responsibility causing the patient's account to go into a credit balance in the amount of-$71.92. Patient called on July 17. 2014 to request a refund. At that time the refund was not processed and the patient called back on August 28, 2014 looking for her refund. She was transferred to Patient Accounting. At that point, the refund process started; which can be 2-4 weeks. The refund was approved on September 14, 2014 and mailed out to the patient on September 24, 2014. Our facility is in the process to find out the breakdown between July 17th and September 28th and sincerely regret any frustration or inconvenience this situation has caused.I contacted the patient on September 24, 2014 to apologize and explained that we will continue to investigate the issue and handle the matter at hand.Thank you for taking time to present the patients concerns regarding [redacted] Health Prince William Medical Center. Review: Date of Service 4/18/14 Received Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from BCBS Federal for $426.36 on 5/5/14. I received bill from [redacted] on 6/2/14 for $426.36. I paid full amount on 5/22/14. I received another EOB from BCBS for $354.44 (They explained that the previous claim as been adjusted and that I was due a refund of $71.92. I contact [redacted] health (Prince William Hospital) on 7/17/14 and they said that they have received the new EOB and that I will be sent my overpayment. On 8/28/14 I contact the payment section at [redacted] health again and was told that they were waiting on me to request the refund and I was again transferred to a supervisor in the refund depart. They said then that I would receive a refund. I have not received a refund from [redacted] health as of 9/17/14. I do not understand why [redacted] said that I had to request a refund twice in order for it to be processed. That alone does not make sense. Why is it the patients responsibility to keep track of their records.Desired Settlement: I need to receive the refund check in the amount of $71.92 for the overpayment I was charged by [redacted] health. [redacted] acknowleged that they owe me the money but has yet to send me payment.

Review: My daughter went to the ER in extreme pain. She signed in and then proceeded to wait for over 2 hours without any help. She decided to leave the hospital and went to another facility for care. PW Hospital still billed my insurance and is now billing me for the difference. I called and told them on two occasions that I disputed the charge. I was told they would submit the dispute and that I would hear something back from them in a day or two. Well now this charge has been sent over to a collection office, without replying to my dispute.

My daughter was never seen not even triaged; the hospital charged us over two hundred dollars to sit in their waiting room. I don’t feel that this charge is warranted. I should not have been charged for services not rendered.Desired Settlement: I would like for the hospital to adjust the billing. They already received a payment from my insurance company. I don't feel I should have to pay the difference especially since no services were rendered.

Review: My husband and I received a hospital bill for our daughter's birth in Oct. 2012. It had the wrong patient name on it. I contacted the hospital multiple times to get it corrected and was told they were taking care of it. In April of 2013, I was told for the first time I had to contact a completely different department. In June of 2013 my husband and I went to the hospital to speak to someone about correcting the matter and were told it would be taken care of. The last bill we received from the hospital is dated Aug 5th and it still has the incorrect patient name.

The hospital is claiming that the name was corrected on Aug 8th and a new bill was mailed out to us. We never received that bill. The hospital is also stating that on Aug 13 they called my cell phone at 12:47pm and confirmed that I received the bill. I nor my husband spoke to the hospital on Aug 13th. On August 14th, the hospital closed our account and sent it to collections. The collection company has a bill dated Aug 22nd with the correct name on it, but we do not. So the hospital sent the bill to collections on Aug 14th with the incorrect name.Desired Settlement: I would like the bill pulled back from collections. I have never disputed that I owed the hospital our co-pay. All we wanted was a to receive a bill with the correct patient name. As of today, September 13th, I have not received a correct bill.

Review: I went to the ER on March 1, 2013 as a result of an auto accident. I filled out paperwork for my auto insurance to be billed. Instead, without my permission, Prince William Hospital proceeded to bill my health insurance without my consent which is illegal. I spoke with a representaative who was very unapologetic and said that they billed my auto insurance on March 11 after they had already billed by health insurance. She said that they will not cash the check being issued by my health insurance but I do not trust them after my last insurance experience with Prince William Hospital. I will be calling my health insurer later today, March 18, 2013 to tell them to stop payment on the check so that Prince William Hospital cannot have access to the funds.Desired Settlement: I want a letter acknowledging their egregious mistake and that they broke the law by billing my health insurance erroneously.

Review: I was instructed by my Doctor to seek test(s). Unfortunately my insurance is now classifying my menstrual cycle as a "pre-existing condition" so they are refusing to cover the cost of tests. Prince William Hospital notified my of this situation and that I would now be responsible for payment. I asked if they could give me the "cash price" for the tests. They did so, which was a 35% decrease in the original cost of $1901.14. They indicated that I could make payments, which I made my first payment of $150 with them. This payment was in good faith per our verbal agreement to pay the reduced cash price.

Then a few weeks later they asked for the original amount of $1901.14, less the payment of $150. I called them and explained the situation again. They indicated that someone would get back to me. No one did, so I called again explaining the situation. Again they said someone would get back to me. This went on for days and days. I also indicated to them that I had filed a dispute with the insurance company over the "preexisting condition" They said fine and they would note that. I told them I wanted to ensure they understood I was actively trying to resolve the issue.

Next thing I know they have sent this to collections. They knew I was trying to resolve the issue, so why would they do this.

I also have a verbal agreement with them to pay the discounted "cash price" and made a payment to them which confirmed our verbal contract.

I just want to resolve this per our agreement of the discounted cash price and get it over with. Please help!!Desired Settlement: Pay the agreed cash price of $1235.74, less initial payment of $150 = $1085.74
