Awful service General Manger has no empathy for life changing family functions! They push you so hard to sign up for two years otherwise they hike the prices so much for the year contract them if you move or have a family emergency they won't even listen or try and help you. The GM and Assisant GM are the rudest people you could ever work with. I'm actually disgusted by their action and comments! I will never come back and believe me I have told so many people about your practices!

Princeton Club uses outright fraudulent business practices. I was told I was signing a personal injury waiver which is totally normal, but they instead used my electronic signature to sign me up for the longest possible contract, 2 years. You cannot trust these people to respect their members, they are totally unscrupulous.

Review: The website claims free child care for members. When I asked about it before becoming a member they denied free child care to me. I am a grandmother who babysits her grandchild so the child's mother can earn a living. They will not let me bring a child to their child care.Desired Settlement: I want to join the health club but I would need to have my grandchild watched at the child care center.

Response:

Hello,Thank you for your interest in the Princeton Club. Due to our certification and insurance our childcare program is considered a parental onsite facility and only available to the direct legal guardian of that child. That means that the legal guardian of anyone that is in our childcare program is required to be onsite for the entire duration of the child's visit. However, we do have a lot of grandparents that do bring their grandchildren into the club regularly to take them swimming, play basketball or participate in our tennis lessons for kids. I would happy to cover all those opportunities with you and answer any other questions you may have. Respectfully,[redacted]Vice President Princeton Clubs

Review: I am moving with family and they want proof of a move to cancel my membership and if I'm within 40 miles of a gym I have to keep my membership according to them. I just wanted to cancel my membership because it's putting stress on me because I am moving so that is taking much of my financials and I don't use the gym anymore.Desired Settlement: Cancellation of my membership with a cancellation charge.

Response:

I have called the phone number on the complaint twice in order to help bring clarity or resolution.

Review: I met with a representative in May of 2014 to sign up for membership. She walked me through the 1 and two year contract and I chose the two year contract that was less money per month. I asked a specific question, "What happens if I cancel within the first two years?" Her reply was that I would have to pay a $100 cancellation fee because of the price difference of the 1 and 2 year agreement. I consented that was ok with me.

Recently, I called to switch my membership to a Princeton club express in a nearby town, but I was told I was not able to do that. Therefore, I asked to cancel my policy, I would pay the $100 cancellation fee as discussed when I signed up, then I would sign up with the Princeton Club express. I talked to Peter the general manager, who told me the information I was giving him was incorrect, and in my opinion, was very unprofessional in handling my complaint. He explained my contract would not let me cancel and I was bound to the contract.

Under Wisconsin statute for "fitness centers" chapter 100.77 Section 14(a) the contract is void when "The buyer entered into the contract in reliance upon any false, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading information, representation, notice or advertisement."Desired Settlement: Cancellation

policies and our staff members clearly explain and follow these policies.

The membership counselor that enrolled Mr. [redacted] has been in

contact with him and clarified our agreements.

We have made arrangements to accommodate Mr. [redacted] request to maintain

his membership with the Princeton Club as an Xpress Only member.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Today I recieved a letter indicating that my Princeton Club account needed to have the credit card expiration date updated. This letter was dated 06Oct2014, but postmarked 16Oct2014. Princeton club pulls my payment on the 15th of the month. Since my card on file was expired the payment did not go through. The letter also indicated that the Princeton Club charged me $20 since the payment did not go through. If they would have sent the letter when it was written, I would have been able to update the card expiration date and I would have had no issues. I feel they purposfully waited to send the letter after the payment did not pull to charge me the extra $20.

We have not had a very good experience with the Princeton club overall, but this is unacceptable. I will make an effort to get them to refund my money. If I have no luck I plan to file another complaint.

Review: Initially, I joined the Princeton Club in New Berlin. I had signed up, given them my credit card information and everything was set, all I had to do was use the facility and my card would be charged monthly. About a month or two into using the club, I started receiving collection letters stating that I had not paid them!

INFURIATED that the Princeton Club had lost MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION THAT WAS ENTERED INTO THEIR SYSTEM, I spoke with the manager, was apologized to, told there was a problem with their system, and I was all set up to continue using the club.

A few months later, the credit card I was using expired and I promptly returned to the Princeton Club with the new one's information to continue using the facility (thinking there's no chance for error again). It felt like a reoccurring nightmare, a couple of months went by and I started receiving collection letters once again!!!!!!

Even more intriguing, after the one or two letters, I did not receive a single notification for a whole year and now I just got a letter again! It almost seems like they even misplaced my personal information for some time.

At this point, I feel like my information is not safe with this business and I refuse to give them my info again at risk that my information finds its way into the wrong hands. I stopped attending the club as soon as I discovered the second loss of information, so I have not used any services, nor have I paid for them.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is for both parties to end on amicable terms that will fully satisfy me:

1. I want to pay nothing more than what I have already as I have utilized no services.

2. I want to be free of any contractual obligations as I feel Princeton Club did not come through on their end of the deal. I WAS more than happy to pay for their services, but after my information was put in jeopardy twice, I cannot with any confidence continue my involvement with this business.

Response:

The Princeton Club takes the protection of

our member’s personal information very seriously. This leads us to

use the industry leading software provider for account management and billing

services. A part of this software allows every member access to their

accounts online allowing them to view billing history, make payments, change

their billing method or information and many other resources to ensure seamless

communication and billing. This software has proven to be highly

successful and efficient for our members. In this specific case the

records do not show a change in billing information. It does show the

payments were returned to us as NSF for three months in a row. When a member

has a payment returned for NSF we do send a notification letter to try and

correct the problem with the members billing information.
