Princeton Van Service Reviews (%countItem)
We had a great experience with Lou and his team. Everyone was very helpful throughout the whole process and they really help made our move less stressful.
I had a great experience. The team was on time, moved me faster than expected and had little trouble with items I thought would cause a big problem. The team was very friendly and were prepared for unexpected issues, likely needing to pack/protect some
Items I hadn’t thought about.
Highly professional team moved contents of large house, 2 pianos, and refrigerator. Worked very hard -- over 12 hour move. Highly recommend them. Estimate seemed high when we first heard it, but it was very accurate -- they came in under estimate.
The Princeton Van Service team was On Time, Friendly, Neat & Efficient.
Princeton Van Service was fantastic for a very difficult move in a retirement community condo. I felt terrible about elevators/hallways. They were classy, professional and very easy to work with. I highly recommend to anyone looking to move!
This was the second time that I used Princeton Van Service and once again I was completely satisfied. The moving team arrived slightly ahead of schedule and quickly got to work. They were sensitive to keeping the costs close to the estimate and yet took great care with moving my furniture. I highly recommend Princeton Van Service for your next move. I
Princeton Van recently moved our household from New Jersey to upstate New York. Although we packed all our own boxes, teams at either end wrapped and unwrapped our furniture, disassembled and reassembled the beds and dining room pieces and took considerable care over a couple of old, rickety pieces that I love. They were fast but careful and they cleaned up as they worked so there was very little mess left behind, which was very helpful. Lou is patient and responsive, listens to your questions and responds in a timely way. All in all, we had a great experience with this company and I would recommend them.
These guys are real professionals. Moved my mother-in-law from her house of 40 years in CT to NJ. LOTS of priceless antiques (well, priceless from mother-in-law’s point of view), furniture, all the stuff someone accumulates over 40 years. Also crated and moved 8 stone sculptures—very heavy and truly priceless, all came thru without a scratch.
They’ve also moved several pianos for us and, again, they are real professionals. Moved a large, heavy 100 year-old upright from the house from which we bought it into our house, then years later moved it out and brought in the full grand from CT. That full grand is huge! Watching them take it from vertical in the “piano board” with no legs to horizontal on the legs, in place in our LR was a sight to see. I’m really glad I lifted nothing heavier than a Pepsi while watching.
Timely professional service! Movers arrived on time to five different locations in one day which was very difficult and did a great job maneuvering large furniture through very small doorways!
Upon the recommendation of our realtor, we hired Princeton Van Service for our recent location. We were treated promptly and with courtesy from the first phone call through the entire process. The movers were so nice and helpful, and they made a good experience out of what could have been a very stressful day. Even the kind follow-up call was so thoughtful. I would highly recommend this wonderful company for your next move!
Overall very good experience. Timely arrival at start of process for estimate. Courteous, friendly. Provided extra boxes without any issues.
Timely arrival in day of move. Friendly, cooperative movers. Accommodated last minute adjustments / requests.
No breakage in transportation which was within 25 miles. Arrived timely. Unloaded quickly. Maintained cooperative attitude in spite of long day. Within an hour or so of estimate. No surprises.
On Saturday April 25th we were fortunate enough to Don, Dan and Duke show up to move us out of our apt in Avalon Run East. We just want to write this express our appreciation for their work. Never before have we felt like someone was so out to make sure we received what we wanted. Whether it was the ability to add items even after they had started loading or finessing a large , heavy , awkward armoire up reasonably tight stairs and into a impossibly laid out closet. They listened to what we wanted and asked questions to make sure they knew what we were talking about and gave honest opinions as far as whether or not several pieces were going to fit where they wanted them. Those opinions were not based on whether they wanted to move them but rather on was it safe to do so. All three men treated us with respect from the first moment and things just kept getting better. The experience went from one we were dreading to one of the most stress free items on our "To-Do' list.
Having moved into our first house and with all those things to deal with and having to return to work after a few days off to find a mountain of work, it took quite an impression to inspire me to write. Don, Dan and Duke certainly made that impression they showed themselves and Princeton Van Service in the best possible light. Should we or anyone we know ever need a mover, Princeton Van Service will be our uncontested recommendation.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the three D's and to Princeton Van Service for making our move so pleasant and stress free.
I hired Princeton Van Service for my move three weeks ago. I booked them to move me out of my old house on Thursday, July 13, to store my belongings overnight and then move me into my new house on Friday, July 14. The owner came out to my house to give me a quote, and told me that he estimated it would take eight hours. I was told they were paid hourly so if it took more than eight hours, I would have to pay more. However, he also told me that if it took less time, it would cost less money. The owner also questioned the necessity of taking two days for my move. I explained that moving a family of six from one four bedroom house into another while also closing on both houses was not something I wished to do in one day. He continued to question this but I was firm that I wanted all of my belongings moved out the day prior to the closings.
On the day they were expected to show up to move my family out, they did not show up in the early afternoon as promised. Instead, I went back and forth with the office manager as she tried to contact the owner to figure out where they were. At 4:30 in the afternoon, I was told they would have to do my entire move the next day and that the movers would be there the next morning at 9 am. I responded that this was unacceptable, since my buyers had their walk through scheduled at 10. I felt it was unfair to them to expect them to do a walk through of a house that was not empty or clean. They finally agreed to show up at 7 am the next morning.
They arrived at 7:30 and informed me that there was a four hour minimum for my move. This was new information for me but I was not concerned since I anticipated that my move out and in would take more than four hours. They were almost, but not quite, finished with the move when my buyers arrived. They did the walk through while the movers were finishing moving everything out of the garage and while my husband and I were still there. I felt terrible that their buying experience was impacted by our movers. We were late to our own walk through and closing because we had to wait for the movers to finish. I called the office and spoke with the manager again and requested that the owner of the company call me to negotiate a discounted rate for the added stress and aggravation. I also let them know that they were expected to be at our new house at 3 pm to move us in. The owner never called me back.
At 3:30, I received a call from the movers saying they would be there shortly. They showed up at 5 pm. The driver came in and told me he had spoken with the owner, and he was going to give me a discount of $300, which was the charge for transporting and storing my belongings overnight. I informed him that this was not a discount since I could not be expected to pay for a service they didn't provide and that I still had not spoken directly to the owner. The driver told me that I would have to pay them the full amount for 10 hours of work, cash or certified check, before they would unload their truck with my belongings. I asked about the four hour minimum, and he told me at that point that it was 4 hours, both ways, with the additional time in between. He told me that they should have been charging me since they arrived at my home at 7:30 that morning, but that the owner was reducing that price. This was not what I had been told when they arrived, and not what the owner had told me when he gave me the original quote.
I called the office and spoke to the same office manager, who informed me that the owner was very busy, that he did give me a discount and that it was not their fault that they had to do my move in one day. I explained that I was prepared to give the workers a certified check for the hours they worked in the morning so they could begin to unload my belongings while waiting to speak with the owner about the remaining balance. She became angry, belligerent and did not let me finish explaining why I was not prepared to hand over the full amount. And then she hung up on me.
The owner finally did call to speak with me, but he was unwilling to lower his price. He was not willing or able to understand why they should not have earned payment for a full 12 hours of work. I ended up paying him $200 more than I should have for the hours they worked, but since my belongings were being held hostage I did not have a choice. I decided I wanted this company out of my house as fast as possible.
Selling a home and buying a new one is stressful enough. A moving company should not add to this, but unfortunately this company turned what should have been a quiet and calm goodbye to my old house and an enjoyable and exciting move into my new house into one of the most upsetting days of my life. This company cannot be trusted and does not stand by their word. And I am still in disbelief that they were so unprofessional as to hang up on me when I was attempting to resolve a conflict. This is the most negative experience I have ever had with a business and the only time in my life that I felt it necessary to file a complaint with the Revdex.com.
