Priority Health Reviews (3)

I am disgusted with Priority Heath and cannot believe the way they operate. I was diagnosed with Cancer in May and I called in to speak with one of their "hired professionals" about my options. I asked if I could change my policy, was told yes and ask several times in that same phone call if my out of pocket that I had paid so far for the year would transfer? I was told oh yes every time. So based on the information I was given from Priority Health I put off cancer treatment for 6 weeks. As the bills started rolling in something was not adding up. After hours of extensive research and phone calls I finally realized that unlike the rep reassured me my out of pocket that I had already paid did not carry over and after several more phone calls and emails was informed by Priority Health that according to plan changes it would be illegal to carry over. I just went through the grievance process where I requested that they listen to the phone call where they rep told me more than once that my out of pocket would carry over. The "grievance board" did listen to the phone call and this was there response "indeed you were told several times by the Priority Health rep that your out of pocket would carry over. We feel bad you were given this misinformation however we are sticking with our decision to leave all as is". I will be pursuing a complaint with the State of Michigan and wonder how they feel like they can get away with this? I paid way more for the new policy and put off treatment based on their false information. It's nice that they "feel bad" just not bad enough to make it right. I'm floored that a business operates like that. It cost me not only a financial burden but a lot of emotional duress while trying to deal with the life altering issue of cancer.

If you think priority health it's going to pay your prevented physical , Think again. My husband just got a physical which was supposed to be covered 100% by the health care provider priority health and instead of paying for it ,they apply the whole thing to the our deductible which mine is $12,000 to start with. Their answer was that the only thing preventative on their book by law is cholesterol and diabetes bloodwork . Totally a joke. Our healthcare system is a legalized extortion company.

I signed up with priority health because my Dr. was listed as participating. Well, it has been a nightmare so far! They auto-assigned me a Dr. who has not been practicing at the location listed for 17 years! And even then, he was only a fill-in Dr! I had to call to get them to change it because when I went to change it to my Dr, they wanted to delay until the next month! Also, it is advertised on healthcare.gov that this plan has $5 copay for generics. Well, after you sign up, there are 2 tiers for generics, 1 and 2 and I have yet to find any generic that is a tier one, so guess what! It is $10.00 copay for each medication! They are the worst! I can only guess that down the line, it will be a nightmare to even get them to pay for anything!
