My husband is a prison inmateover the past years I've tried several of the larger Book CompaniesInvariably there is a problem, and the Books never reach himLast year I started using prison publicationsSo far every order has arrived on time without any rejectionsThe quality of their Books is very good, and I haven't found better prices for inmate shipmentsthese are good honorable people

Prison Publications made it so easy ordering books for my son. I had problems with the checkout process, may have been my computer, they sent me an email with a copy of the order form the very next day. My son has received the books which he said were in excellent conditon, he could not believe that they were not new. He was also sent a catalog and is making me a list of books he would like in the future. Will definitely be a return customer for years to come, even after his prison time is over. Thank you Prison Publications for helping to keep my son reading. Books take away the loneliness of sitting in a cell day after day.

On 8/8/13 I sent "Prison Publications" a facility check in the amount of $54.40 (see attached front and back copy of check) to prove proof of payment for the purchase of the following books "Executive Power, Memorial Day, Pursuit of Honor, Term Limits, Protect and Defend, The Third Option, Transfer of Power, Kill Shot, The Last Man and Webster's Dictionary & Thesaurus."As of present date, I have yet to receive my order/books from the above said company. To prove these books were not sent to me nor came through the facility's mail room, I am enclosing a response from the mail room (see attached). This is the genesis of why I am writing you filing this grievance/complaint. I have written the company and they have neglected/ failed to respond to any of my attempts to receive a status of my order. Desired SettlementTo resolve this matter and come to a feasible resolution, I am requesting a full and complete refund. By this company not making any attempts to contact me concerning this issue they have led me to believe they are attempting to rob me of my money. Conclusion: I want a full refund. Business Response The check arrived here on August 17th. The order was shipped complete on August 19, 2013. It was sent with a US Postal Service Tracer. The receiving Post Office in PA received the shipment on 8/22/13. They can only verify receiving, they can't verify that the prison delivered the package. Curiously, mr. [redacted] states that he's written us several times. I can find nothing that suggests he's ever contacted us directly. WE ship almost 100 orders a day. AT least one order every day or so, goes to his facility. It doesn't serve us well if a shipment doesn't get to it's intended recipient, or if the recipient alleges not to have received the package. We are investigating the matter with the US Postal Inspection Service. If it is true that thwe package was not delivered we will either reship a new order, or issue a refund.

Cursed at, rude, yelled at by the owners (male & female)ordered books 4 my brother who is incaerated back in Nov. they were returned, the company sent them out again he never got them, I tried 2 call # disconnected, emailed no response. spoke 2 someone today (1/21/14) & the woman owner was rude did not know anything, the other owner Michael Taylor was very rude, cursed me several times b/c I didn't want to hear how much money his company made, I told him I had nothing to do with that. I told him they needed 2 refund my money & that I was told they had no record of my transsction although I had a receipt from them. He proceeded to tell me that he was going to tell the warden at the prison on me & play the tape so I told him to go ahead that I was not in prison and that I was going to show how rude & nasty he is. then I proceeded to get a nasty email from him. I told him 2 keep the money that he needed more than I did!Desired SettlementI want my money back!Business Response Almost everything this woman (using the term woman with a grain of salt)says is an outright bald face lie, and although I can't actually make the accusation at this time it is possible she is engaged in a course of conduct designed to cheat us out of money. Indeed she did order the books as stated. They were shipped to the prison. The prison inadvertently returned them. We called the prison, and our Attorney called the prison. We spoke to the prison Attorney, Mr. [redacted]. He put us in touch with Mr. [redacted] the Mail Room Supervisor, Mr. [redacted]. [redacted] told us to reship the books which we did at our expense. The books arrived at the Prison on December 18, 2013 as evidenced by the enclosed tracking number. We heard nothing further from these fine folks until about a week ago when the recipient emailed us threatening to ruin us. he stated his family had contacted you folks and you to9ld him we were dead beats and had an F rating. he ranted and ranted.Copies of his e-mails attached. I thought about the situation and decided that as a good will gesture I'd replace the books. I asked that he first file a claim to prove that he didnt receive them. The next day this screaming person telephoned our offices. You've seen what she alleges in her writings. She doesn't tell you how she screamed and threatened on the phone, hung up, recalled and called us four letter words. Our conversations on the Customer Service line are taped and it is pre announced. I will not repeat what this vile hum,an being stated and threatened. I called the prison and spoke to Mr. [redacted]. He agreed the books arrived on 12/18. There is no record of them being sent back. They do not keep records of books that they give out, only the returns. His comment was, "we received them, and they are no longer in the Mail Room. What does that tell you.?" Although we had planned to send the books as a Customer service issue, this woman called and screamed, "I don't need your M.....F.....g books and you need the money more then me so f.....g keep it. They received the books. No vendor should be abused that way. She stated she was going to see to it we never sold another book to prisons. She is simply a filthy mouthed person, and [redacted] will freeze over before we do another thing. For them. For one thing she has threatened us with harassment charges if we contact her again. Although that is reflective of her mentality. iT PRECLUDES US FROM DOING ANYTHING FURTHER.We have made more than a good faith effort to help these people b ecause we are fighting for a A rating. I'd rather have a Z rating than deal with them. By thge way our emails and tapes are available. The only cursing done was by that person. We have filed a complaint with the US Government authorities (Postal Inspectors).
