I bought 10 round bales of hay from a local farmer for $300. They were wet inside & not suitable for horses. He agreed to refund my $300, but hasn't.On May 11, 2016, I bought 10 round bales of hay for $300 from a local farmer [redacted]). I have bought round bales of hay from him many times over the years. He delivered the round bales to me and rolled them of his trailer under my shelter, took my $300 check (#[redacted]), and left. The check has cleared.The round bales looked good as he was unloading them, but later on, I put my hand inside of one of the bales and was surprised that it was damp. They all were wet. I called him and told him.He offered to bring back my $300, and I offered to return the hay to him, if he would unload them at his farm (~ 12 miles away). After I dropped off one of the damp moldy hay bales at his farm, he said he didn't want them back, but he still agreed on the phone to refund my $300.Two other people witnessed his agreement to refund my $300 -- an employee from the local power company working on in the area on May 24, 2016 who talked to him on the phone and helped me unload the round bale, and later someone at my horse farm who talked to him on the phone when he would not answer or return my calls. The contact information for these two people is available on request.On May 30, 2016, I sent him a letter requesting my refund and included a self-addressed stamped envelop. He still has not refunded my $300 or responded to my calls or correspondence. I have made every attempt reasonable to resolve this with him, but he will not answer my calls. Desired SettlementI need and am entitled to my $300 back, which he more than once agreed to refund. Please intervene to encourage him to do what is right, what he agreed to do. I want my $300 back.
