Review: ProBuilders was contracted to build a large shop in August of 2007. They completed the shop December 2008 with the exception of the drywall and electrical in the proposed bathroom and boiler room. ProBuilders was paid $196,029.65 for the work and I was to contact them when I was ready to have the electrical and drywall completed. I had additional work connected to the bathroom project performed in 2011. The $1,043.17 charge for the additional work was paid for at that time. I was never given a timeline in which I had to have the remaining work completed and was told to call when I was ready.

My wife, [redacted], contacted ProBuilders on September 18, 2013 to request the work be scheduled. She was told by [redacted] (the owner's wife) the company was extremely busy and the earliest the work could be done would be December. [redacted] told her we were in no hurry and that would be fine. [redacted] again contacted ProBuilders on January 7, 2014, and January 17, 2014 requesting the work be scheduled. On January 27, 2014 [redacted] called and talked to [redacted] and expressed frustration that we had not heard from [redacted]. [redacted] acknowledged that we have paid for the remaining work and said she'd ask [redacted] to call. We never heard from him and [redacted] called on February 13, 2014 inquiring about the status. On February 13, 2014 [redacted] (owner of ProBuilders) talked to [redacted] and said they were going to be out-of-town for two weeks. He said would call the electrician to schedule the job. Having heard nothing from ProBuilders, [redacted] talked to [redacted] on April 9, 2014 and was told [redacted] was out-of-town. [redacted] offered to contact the electrician and schedule the work if ProBuilders would send her something in writing giving her permission to do so since they would be responsible for the bill. On May 13, 2014 [redacted] called regarding completion of the work. [redacted] said they were very busy with several projects. [redacted] offered to find someone to do the drywall in addition to scheduling the electrical as long as ProBuilders gave her the authority to do so. [redacted] said she would talk to her husband. We never heard anything and at this point knew ProBuilders was in their busy season. We decided to wait until fall to contact them again. On September 8, 2014 I sent [redacted] a certified letter requesting he contact me by September 22, 2014 to let me know when the work could be scheduled. To date I have not had any response.

The amount of time to complete the project is minimal. The area which needs to be finished is approximately 5 x 12.Desired Settlement: I understand Mr. [redacted] is very busy. I would like him to complete the work we have paid for. My wife and I are happy to coordinate the work with the electrician and also find someone to do the drywall if ProBuilders doesn't have time to do the work themselves. If ProBuilders wants us to pursue this option, we want something in writing stating they will be responsible for the expenses connected with the work.
