Pro Built Construction Reviews (1)

Review: Mr. [redacted] displayed continued incompetence in the items that were tasked to him. Though Mr. [redacted] attempted to correct several of these issues, there were some that he neglected to address and others that he did not have the skill set required to amend. We have communicated our concerns and disappointment to Mr. [redacted] and have attempted to make arrangements to resolve the issues; unfortunately, we have not been able to do so, even after multiple attempts to make arrangements.

He is unprofessional, lacks integrity, and most importantly does not possess the knowledge or the minimum skills required to perform the home improvement tasks that his license endorses him for.Desired Settlement: Payment for what it will cost to have another party correct the outstanding issues

This complaint is still in negotiation as to its resolution. I'm not going to respond to customers personal attack at this time. The complaint is minor and offer to fix it was made.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. We have yet to reach a resolution

Mr.[redacted] is unwilling to accept that there is a larger issue than what he offered to fix, we do not feel like he would perform the task correctly; this is why we are asking for payment for the job to be redone by another contractor

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Here is a compilation of pictures which demonstrates Mr. [redacted]'s poor workmanship. They show both large and small items that had to be addressed with Mr. [redacted].As stated in my previous email, nearly all items that were tasked to Mr. [redacted] were in need of attention after being completed. We can further document if required, we took pictures from start to finish. We have text messages from the very beginning of this project. He started work on September 14, 2015 and gave a 3 - 4 week schedule for completion. We encountered issue after issue and did not get back into our home for nearly 3 months. Some of these issues were corrected - only after brining it to his attention, some issues were outsourced and others were simply ignored. We were able to move back into our home on December 6th. We noticed that the tile on the base of the shower was popping off nearly immediately after we returned home. We were worried about water getting underneath the tile and notified him of this via text on December 9th. When we brought it to his attention we were met with a barrage of excuses. Per Mr. [redacted], the wear and tear was merely cosmetic and didn't need to be addressed: "there is two waterproof membranes in base of shower one liner and one aqua guard over backboard that floor is not getting wet issues are cosmetic" He agreed to pay $200 to have these cosmetic changes made. We contacted him again on January 25, 2016 because the grout was coming up near the vent and we were beginning to feel movement in the tiles. After missed appointments and ignored texts, he finally came on February 16th. At the visit he agreed that it "wasn't right". He initially agreed to fix but denied that he had scheduled an appointment with us to do so (even though we have confirmation of this via text). From here, we had [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] come to our home to evaluate the issue. All parties agreed that there was need for a total redo. We sent out first quote to Mr. [redacted] after he stated that he would reimburse to which he replied, "I'm not paying 1200 for a. Popped tile especially since I offered to fix it that est. Is ridiculous"At that point we had already paid $6500 to Mr. [redacted] for labor and $886.97 in overages to correct his mistakes (we purchased materials, we have all receipts if needed); we could not afford another $1200 that may or may not have been reimbursed by Mr. [redacted]. We decided to go with Mr. [redacted], who had done work on several of [redacted] father's projects. He could be trusted and would allow us to purchase our own materials. The original agreement was $850 for the floor with us supplying the tile. We purchased tile for $124.20 but have not paid anything to Mr. [redacted] as of yet.Once Mr. [redacted]'s crew began working they discovered that he tile did not bond correctly; after further demo they found that there was water damage sourcing from the shower. Tonight we have been displaced yet again thanks to the errors of Mr. [redacted]. We have a bathroom that has been completed gutted and is in the process of being totally redone. I will include pictures of the tile issues in a follow up email. Please let me know if you need any additional information.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
