We've 3 kids still at home out of 7, plus 2 toy-size dogs. Clean floors are important to us. We have pro cleaning every 3-4 months.

In 4 1/2 years here, we've used 2 other carpet services. The 1st was AWESOME. We stayed w him until he retired. Always 3 rooms + hall/stairs @$150-$165, which INCLUDED: pre-vacuum w pro shopvac, pre-treatment for stains & pet spots, deep steam clean, spot removal w a commercial-level rotary cleaner, excess water removal, post-clean raking, & enzyme odor treatment.

In July, I called a "green" company we'd gotten a flier from. Coupon price, same basic svcs: @$120, 3 rooms & hall; initial vacuum, pre spot treatment, cleaning, raking & deodorizing, all of which they did. Unfortunately the green products/equipment got nothing clean. So this time I tried Pro Cleaning Solutions, which I found via ***.

When I scheduled over the phone, I was quoted $65 per room for 3 rooms, which was ALREADY UPCHARGED TO INCLUDE: vacuum, pre-treatment of spots/pet stains (I had made it CLEAR on the phone that one of our dogs is in poor health), cleaning, AND odor treatment.

This is FAR higher than average, but our daughter's wedding is 4 weeks away. I reluctantly agreed. This was a bitter reminder to TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS!

Scheduled for 8 am 11/3, two men arrived at 8:15; one the company owner. After a short walk thru, he said we must pay ANOTHER $35 for odor treatment in just ONE room. I said this was included in our quote, but he insisted this was added, deeper, & more thorough. I refused; this was supposed to be part of the reason for the ALREADY sky high price! He then lowered to $25 - it was like a used car salesman tactic. But he insisted it was necessary & worked wonders. Again against my better judgment, I agreed.

After 30 minutes trying without success to get their equipment to start, he said they needed a "new fuel pump." We rescheduled for 1 pm & I made plans to run errands in the interim. He said he'd apply the "EXTRA odor treatment" first, so it could "work in the meantime."

I was then astonished to see him walk around maybe 9 sq ft w an unmarked generic spray bottle of some odorless, clear liquid - set to mist - & simply spray it around a bit from a standing position. How can "deep odor treatment" work if it doesn't even penetrate the carpet surface? I could have done more w a $6 bottle of Febreeze!

I received an automated text, "scheduled to arrive between 11 and 1." Now I was stuck waiting, instead of running errands.

They returned at 10:45, & once again, I was shocked at what I observed. Although I use our awesome Bissell Pet Vac in all rooms before services arrive, the others ALWAYS used their far more powerful shopvacs for a thorough vacuum before cleaning. This is ESSENTIAL! Loose & deep dirt/debris in carpet - when soap & water are applied - will just be soaked & gummed into place, not removed! Our Bissell is a GREAT home vacuum, but does leave behind some fur, strands of my own waist-length dark auburn hair, carpet fuzz, & just basic carpet "stuff."

NONE of the stains/spots were given ANY TREATMENTS, deodorizing or otherwise (pls see their OWN DESCRIPTIONS of their carpet cleaning & odor treatment services at procleaningsolution.com).

The other man just used a basic wand-style WET steam vacuum to quickly go over each room once, leaving behind little damp piles of fuzz/fur/hair/crud. He didn't even vacuum or rake to collect those so they wouldn't wind up back in our carpet - simply picked up the largest & most obvious by hand.

Meanwhile, Mr. Salesman was outside on his phone. Those were the "certified & expertly trained" technicians we got).

NO (promised & PAID FOR) treatment for long term odor control. NO additional work on all the spots they missed. NO excess water removal. The wand wasn't even strong enough to fluff up shallow indentions left by the very few things we'd removed (a light wood-framed chair; the XS wire crates my 6 and 8 lb Poms sleep in). I ended up fluffing those myself with a .99 cent PLASTIC HAIR COMB after they left!

The carpet was left sopping wet - not only dangerous, but rendering the entire cleaning pointless! DAMP is one thing. This was puddles-forming-WET, which collects MORE dirt like a magnet. It also houses & grows BACTERIA, which causes new odor, health, and destruction issues. NO excess water removal, raking, or long-term odor treatment. The End.

While observing, I was looking over the company's website again, trying to figure out if I'd misread the steps that were promised. NO - they were simply SKIPPING them!

I *didfind a coupon - which specified to be presented AT TIME OF SERVICE - for 3 rooms & hall "Silver Package" at $79. When they finished, I pointed out the coupon. The owner said he had already given us a "big discount" (???for the most expensive & least effective service ever???). But, he said, there was a $40 PER ROOM surcharge for all the "additional services" - not ONE of which was performed! He claimed his price was actually better than it would be with the coupon.

Well, neither lies nor math are his strong suits apparently, because the total we got gouged for was $238.15. That would be ridiculous even if they had DONE the work!

By that point, I realized that addressing my concerns with him was pointless, as he had slick salesman responses prepared for everything. I wanted him out of my house. So I simply paid via the Housecall app, and prayed they'd done a better job than it seemed. They had not.

The spots we'd been so highly charged to have removed were still obvious, or began to reappear like reverse magic. The smell of now-soaked-but-still-not-clean carpet got so bad, we had to open the doors & windows ... so much for that $25 odor treatment!

48 hours later: carpets still not dry. Most stains/spots still evident in every room. As a bonus, there was an awful musty smell permeating downstairs that we have NEVER had before.

I spent most of the weekend in furious tears, while my husband just spent it absolutely FURIOUS. I do not like confrontations and I was SO TIRED of arguing w that man, but I would give anything to go back and refuse to pay until they did every bit of the work we were so highly charged for!

As it is, we wouldn't allow them back across our threshold. You do not deal twice with people who have cheated you once on home services - it would be NUTS to trust someone to come back into your house, when you have already found them to be dishonest.

We simply want our money back - they list a satisfaction GUARANTEE on their website - since NOTHING we paid for was done. AND, now we must hire a different company FAST to come in and correct this mess.

I will never ignore my instincts again!

After hearing of the complaint we did call and offer to send a technician to come out and rework the job completely over again. However that was turned down. The offer still stands as we guarantee all our work with a 10 day guarantee to come back out if the customer is unsatisified with the job.
