Review: There are 2 parts to my complaint: Non performance of the contract and Gross overcharge of Service. This contract was to paint the eaves and gables for the complete top of my home.RE: NON PERFORMANCE of the CONTRACT: All debris was to be removed from the site including all paint scrapings and paint drips. White Paint scrapings still remain on all roofs and sidewalks. Roofs are speckled with white everywhere. Also there are multiple roof areas with WHITE paint DRIPS. This is a brand new $20K BLACK roof that was just installed Aug 2012. Contractor was notified verbally of the problems 9/25/14. There have been multiple meetings scheduled + rescheduled for the contractor to come back to the site but he has not met any of the meeting dates. Last scheduled meeting was 9/29 which was a no show.RE: GROSS OVERCHARGE of SERVICE: Originally Roof gables were painted white and trimmed with gold leaf decoration. The original contract called for the contractor to take the time to cut-around and leave existing gold decoration. All white surfaces were to be scraped, caulked, painted with a primer and then a finish coat. After work commenced, the suggestion was made to me to prime over all surfaces; then paint in the gold trim afterwards. It was even said that it would take less time and would yield a better job. After all white was completed, the gold paint trim (1 PINT) was applied. I was advised 3 coats of gold were needed to make it solid looking. No ladders were moved to do this. Often the additional coats were applied in the same hour. The gold paint dried quickly between coats. On 9/19, I was handed a note with a request for immediate payment of 900.00 to apply this 1 PINT of paint.Desired Settlement: RE: REMEDY: I believe I am being grossly overcharged for the application of a half quart of paint to make up for the time that the contractor misjudged/mismanaged to complete the contract. Originally the contractor was to have 6-7 painters on site every day. The job was to take 7 business days. Instead 2-4 painters were there daily. One day had 5 painters. Total job took 13 business days between 8/27 and 9/19/14.I want reimbursed 450.00 of the 900.00 already paid for the application of 1 pint of gold paint.I want reimbursed 200.00 to hire someone to remove all white paint scrapings and white paint drips from all roofs and sidewalks.
