Pro Referral is an internet contractor referral service. It is the digital equivalent of the bulletin board at the front of many retail stores where contractors post business cards or flyers in the hope that a potential customer will chose to contact that contractor. Pro Referral is not
required to verify the licensing, insurance and skills of the contractors that use the service, any more than *** *** stores are required to verify the licensing of every contractor who posts a business card on the bulletin board
The “Consumer” who filed this complaint is not a consumer but rather is a contractor who is unhappy that unlicensed contractors also use Pro Referral’s service, i.eits digital “bulletin board”. As explained to *** *** *** in a phone conversation to the Pro Referral Call Center on 7/14/*** Pro Referral provides to its customers information about several contractors at a time, including his company. The customer decides which contractors to contact, or be contract by, and the customer selects which contractor to hire to perform the work. Pro Referral does nothing more than provide a market place in which customers and contractors can meet. This was explained to *** *** *** on the 7/14/** call. Based on that conversation with the call center associate, *** *** *** stated his satisfaction with and his understanding of the process by which Pro Referral’s service works. He even commented that “his guy must have been mistaken with how the customer got the information.” He even stated his appreciation at having it explained to him

I actually have called them. The first time I called I was put on hold for a long time transferred to various reps and ultimately told there was nothing that can be done. I work full time and have a baby I don't have time to call and wait on hold for extended periods of time and to explain what happened over and over again. Maybe red beacon could just contact me via email which I also tried sevreal times to reach out by that method but again get no response. If they are not willing to do anything I'm not wasting my time on the phone explaining everything that happened to be told there is nothing they can do. This company has terrible customer service.

Numerous attempts have been made to speak to Ms. [redacted] to no avail, including asking for a better, more convenient time to speak. When it is a better time for her to speak about her issue to discuss, she is free to contact Redbeacon Customer Care at XXX-XXX-XXXX. Until we are actually able to speak with Ms. [redacted] to discuss further, no further steps to potentially resolve the issue will be able to be made.

This is the exact same response I received a week ago. I did get in touch with redbeacon and am waiting to here back on their decision.

Red Beacon, Inc. has reviewed the details of the customer's concerns and provided the customer's requested reimbursement of $1608.18. The customer has signed a settlement & release agreement and the check has been mailed to the customer....

I accepted the offer because I just want this behind me. However, I have not received the check as of today. Offer was return of deposit and reimbursement of paint.
