I received your letter in the mail today concerning a dispute between Pro Repair Incand Mr [redacted] This is the first time this issue has been brought to my attention as I was not present at time the customer picked up his vehicleI left a message with Mr [redacted] on 3-at 11:I explained that I didn't receive his letter that I wasn't aware that there was an issue with our servicesI read his dispute and advised that I was sending his requested $back to him and apologized for him being upset and thinking I didn't care about his concern All of our repairs are guaranteed and there would have been no further charge to re-check the check engine light on his vehicle if he would have had us re-check it for himWe would not have told the customer that he needed the switch replaced if there wasn't a code in the computer for the switch and proper diagnosis procedures were performedIf the code did not re-set and only a misfire code was present it is possible that after disconnecting the switch and checking continuity with a meter that disturbing the switch could have made the contacts in the switch to start working againThere was no continuity through the switch at time of testingThis is the only Complaint that I can remember filed against Pro Repair Incin the last fifteen years of businessThis complaint would not have been filed if I would have known that there was an issue with Mr [redacted] and I could have resolved it in a timely mannerThe only reason Mr [redacted] was given a brake estimate was because the park brake was out of adjustment when we tried to adjust it so we looked into why the park brake could not be adjustedThe $diagnostic fee included removing the center console cover and trying to adjust the park brake, so there was labor time in trying to adjust the park brake since it has to been at the lever inside of the vehicle and disassembly is required, there still would have been a half hours labor for trying to adjust the park brake but it was included with the diagnosis line, there was no charge for diagnosing the brakes, the diagnosis charge was for the check engine light concern which is no longer present for the clutch switchAs I stated before we do not try to sell customer's parts that are not needed, if the diagnosis merits a part replacement, that is what the customer is advised of what repairs need to be performed at that timeI cannot explain why the switch code did not return after we cleared the codes Sincerely Ron S [redacted] Pro Repair Inc
