Revdex.com called business spoke with ***She stated meeting with consumer took place and complaint resolved

I do not agree with their explanationI believe their service man mislead me in the scope of work I asked for. KMA Electric did not do the work correctlyin addition I stand by my original complaint, and would like to add that they left Live wires in the basement, and did not wire the panel correctly as it is pulling power therefore substantially increasing the electric billthey also did not mark the panel for which circuits go to different areas of the house, and the upstairs and dining room light are on the same circuit. I stand by my complaint and these additions, and would like a refund

Revdex.com received a phone call from business stating the first light installed was purchased at ***. On the light failed and business replaced it with a new LED light

I have made contact with *** and I have taken care of the situationIf there is anything else I can do for you please do not hesitate to call me. Thanks!

We were quoted for, and paid for, an whole house rewire The wiring for the AC is in the house, therefore it should have been rewired I never said the panel "was not labeled" I said it was incorrectly labeled. The AC was not even marked on the panel What Jim drew up and what your guys did were two different things, so if they didn't do the AC that would be why They ruined our attic space by specifically not doing what the drawing stated to do.We need reimbursed the money we have spent with a real company to correctly wire our AC since KMA refused We also need refunded the amount billed that would be to cover warranty cost since you are refusing to do warranty work and at this point we do not ever want KMA anywhere near our house. In your response you failed to address any of the other issues we have reported
Regards,

As the owner of KMA Electric, Heating & Cooling, I would like to respond to the points you brought up in your letter to the Revdex.com. As we discussed standing at the electrical panel in your basement, the wiring circuit to your air conditioner is from the 1960s,...

and is 12 gauge wire.  Since the air conditioner was upgraded approximately 15 years ago, this circuit should have been replaced at that time.  Since this wire is 12 gauge, we replaced the breaker with the appropriate size of a 20 amp breaker.  If you have now installed a 30 amp breaker and left the 12 gauge wiring, you have put your home at risk.  Where the 20 amp breaker we installed wouldprotect the panel from overloading and overheating, a 30 amp breaker will allow much more heat to build up before tripping, if it even trips.  Jim from KMA made a map of your home, noting all the upgrades that we would be performing before we started any work.  Replacing the circuit to the air conditioner was not included in that scope of work.  Please understand that we would be happy to upgrade this wiring for you, with warranty at an additional cost, but this was not part of our original quote. We do acknowledge that the work we performed did take longer than originally expected, however that is the nature of the construction business. When the work was complete, you and I did a full walkthrough of your home to every single device throughout the upstairs, the attic, the basement and including the panel.  We reviewed everything KMA Electric had done.  When we completed the work, an electrical inspector with the Columbus City Building Code Enforcement department came and reviewed all the electrical work as well, including the labeled panel.  Our work passed this inspection.  If the panel was not labeled, it would not have passed inspection.  If youwould like some more detail listed on the labels inside the panel, we would be happy to take care of that.  The work we performed was done to code – please refer to the attached copy of the inspection report.     We sincerely hope that you have not had a larger breaker installed for your air conditioner. This in not safe, and can cause a house fire.  We will stand behind anything we installed, however KMA cannot be held responsible for work that was outside the scope of work that we were hired to do.  We can however, provide options for taking care of any extra work required, as well as provide more detail for the circuits in your panel. Kelly A[redacted]

3.19.18 Consumer notified Revdex.com via phone call that business addressed her complaint.

In response to what you're requesting. We cannot splice the power companies wire. It's AEP property. We are consulting with the Revdex.com to come to your location with a mediator to discuss the issues at hand. Customer service is very important to us. We will be sending this to the...

Revdex.com for mediation. They will be in contact with you in regards of setting up a meeting thank you.Thank you

I was contacted by the business in regards to my complaint. They were apologetic, admitted that I was overcharged and said that they would give me a full refund. However, they only refunded $617, and I paid $876. This leaves $259 still in dispute.

Mrs. [redacted], Thank you for writing in.  We would like to address your concerns to clear this matter up for you.  When we schedule for an inspection in Licking County, it goes a bit differently than many other counties around central Ohio.  We can schedule for a specific day, but...

they will not provide a specific time or even a window of time during which they will arrive.  The homeowner is fortunate if they get a half hour call ahead.  This means that unlike other areas, we are not asked by the county to be present for the inspection. We point this out because many times questions that the inspector may have can be discussed and remedied on the spot.  That's not so in Licking County.  In fact, we do not even receive a pass/fail report from the county - we have to rely on the homeowner to provide this information.  As you know, we scheduled with you to return to your home today to address the inspectors requirements.  Thus, filing a complaint with the Revdex.com before the job is even completed seems a bit unfair.  We have not yet even seen the items that the inspector wanted to be addressed, and so have not had the opportunity to make it right for you.  As far as the cost of these services, we did provide our price upfront before any work was performed, just like we do for all customers.  There was no obligation to use our services, and, in fact, we provided you with six different options to accomplish whichever goals were most important to you.  On top of that, our technician gave you a 20% discount.  So we did not overcharge to inflate our own pockets, we treated you fairly.  Any sense of urgency you felt to get the job completed wasn't a result of anything we did.  We intend to honor our end of the agreement and make the corrections the inspector is requiring.  That is the normal course of action in this type of business.  We hope that you will be pleased with the results once the job is completed.  If you would like to discuss this with me directly, please call us at 740-366-0707.

Ms. [redacted],We're sorry you feel this way about the work done at your home.  The work was contracted on Friday 9/8/17.  On Monday 9/11/17 the request for permit was filed.  We always file for a permit when it is required, and we do have this one on file.  The work was completed on...

9/20/17.Per the contract, we were to ground the service wire, replace the riser, set a junction box, refeed circuits, perform a circuit restoration and place a backboard behind the panel.  All of these items have been completed.  There were a few findings from the inspector, and we have completed their requests.  The job that we were to do, per our written contract, is now complete.  We can not perform any work that is not listed on our contract.  We were not contracted to remove any knob and tube wiring.  To our knowledge, the knob and tube wiring is not live in the basement.  No light fixtures were contracted for.  We are not responsible for, and are not required to perform, any work that is not listed on our contract.  We have no knowledge of the other work that has been described.  Kelly A[redacted] has been out to the residence several times, and has informed the home owner that the breaker is tripping because it is being overloaded with a space heater and a shampooer running concurrently. We have a contract signed by the homeowner, which outlines the work we were responsible to perform.  The work has been completed, and the inspection has been fulfilled.  If the customer had desired for any other work to be performed, it needed to be listed on the contract.  If there are additional items they would like addressed, we would be happy to work with the customer again.

The business KMA Electric will return my $300. if I remove this complaint.I will consider this matter resolved.

Ms. [redacted],First, please let me apologize that your experience with my company wasn't terrific.  Believe it or not, we do strive to achieve 100% satisfaction for all of our clients.  In this case, it seems we did fall short of the goal.Once your complaint was received in my office, we...

called to ask when you would be available for me to stop by personally and discuss the issue with you.  You did not seem interested in that, telling my staff how busy you are and how you only have the three days off per week.  I have called you myself; I got no answer and received no return call from the message I left.  So relative to your complaint, I'm not sure how I can answer your question if you are not available to speak with me.        If you would like to reach me, I am available during normal business hours.  ###-###-#### is my cell number.  Please feel free to call me at your convenience.  Thank you,Kelly A[redacted]

The $259 was agreed on by yourself when you called for Emergency Service. The $259 is a charge that is applied when we come out any time after 5:00pm for an emergency call. We sent our technician out within an hour after our regular business hours.

I am rejecting this response because:I am not talking about what inspector found. What I said was when they installed ceiling fans that did something in attic that made outlets in bedrooms not work, they had to come back and fix that.we hired them also to fix ac that drags down lights when it kicks on still does. You know what , this is getting me no where. But I will tell all my friends and family members who not to hire when looking for electrians. That will cover west Virginia, Kentucky, ohio, new Jersey, north Carolina, and Porta Rico. Will not slander anyone will just share my experience and thoughts, have a great day, this conversation is over.

As we mentioned in our earlier reply, this job was still open by our estimation.  In other words, we weren't finished at that point and we would be back to honor the agreement that we made with the homeowner.  Our technician did, in fact, go back out to the home that same day he was scheduled.  He fixed an issue with the pool pump as well as labelled the electrical panel, and at the time of his leaving, the homeowner was very happy with the work performed as well as the technician himself.  Thank you for the opportunity to clear this matter up and finish the job in a satisfactory manner.  If any questions remain, please feel free to contact us at ###-###-####.  Thank you!
