My complaint is against Pro Skills automotive services, I took my car there to have an engine replaced. The work was not warranted as promised. On 2/10/2016 I brought my car to Pro skills to have the engine replaced on my [redacted] I was told the engine was going to cost $1300 I was told that I needed to put down $960 to have the engine delivered. The labor would be 525+ 50 for the fluids. I was also informed that I would have a warranty on the labor of 6 months' labor and 90 days on the motor itself. I retrieved the car on 2/12/2016 my daughter drove the car back to college. On 3/04/2016 I received a call from daughter that the car broke down on the highway. I immediately texted and called [redacted] at Pro skills, because I had just replaced the engine in the car and could not understand how my daughter could be on the side of the highway. Without success of reaching [redacted], I had the car towed all the way from [redacted], NC to have the car checked and diagnosed. On Monday 3/7/16 I was told the engine locked up and everything was under warranty, not to worry they would be delivering an engine on Friday 3/11/16. [redacted] stated he would work on the car then. I received a call from [redacted] PD stating they towed the car and I need to pick the car up from [redacted] towing. I informed [redacted] of what had transpired, he contacted me later on that day stating not to worry everything would be taken care of. He informed me the engine would be there that day and he would start on the car. I asked for an update on the progress was told, on Saturday 3/12/16 he would start on Monday. I was told the engine had locked both the transmission and engine together and it would be difficult to get apart. I received a text message on Friday 3/18/2016 stating that he was making progress and installing the engine at that time. I received another text later that day saying his was 90% done. Saturday 3/19/2016 afternoon I received a call saying the car was complete but there was a problem, the engine was not going to be warranty by the company due to the nature of how the engine went out. I asked [redacted] for an explanation as to why the engine that went out in 2 plus weeks was not warranted. I was asked to pay $450 more dollars to cover the cost of him having to purchase another engine. I was informed by [redacted] he could not afford to pay for the motor out of pocket, either I came up with the money or he will take the new engine out and return it to get his money back. I called and text [redacted] several time asking where he bought the engine so I can question the clause of the warranty on the engine. [redacted] refused to share the information with me so I did some investigation myself. I found out the engine was purchased from [redacted] junk yard. I called [redacted] on 3/19/2016 and was informed that the average engine for a [redacted] would be approximately no more than $850. I went to pro skills on Monday 3/21/2016 with the police to retrieve my personal items and final receipt for repairs, inquired about the warranty on the engine again, [redacted] assured me that he took the engine to [redacted] and they refused to warranty the engine. I called again on Tuesday 3/22/206 It was confirmed by [redacted] and employee and the owner [redacted] that [redacted] was not being truthful, [redacted] validated the engine was warranted out on Thursday 3/10/2016 they were awaiting a phone call from [redacted] so they could pick up the old engine but have not received that call yet. Wednesday 3/23/2016 I went to Pro skills to retrieve my car. [redacted] asked me for the $450 before I was to take the car. I explained to him I did not owe him anymore money the vehicle repairs were within the warranty period. [redacted] became belligerent with me and told me to leave his shop with my raggedy car. I am very displeased with the services at Pro skills. I am requesting return of the difference of what the engine actually cost $1300-850 of $450 as a credit back to me.Desired SettlementI would like a refund back to me in the amount of $450 that is the difference o $1300-850 from the purchase of the engine from [redacted] junk yard in [redacted] on February 10, 2016. Purchased by [redacted] owner of Pro Skills repair shop.

I paid Pro Skills to put a used engine in my car. After it took 2 months to fix when I finally got it ran worse than ever.On 2/25 I gave [redacted] $750 for the purchase of a used engine. After he received the engine (2 weeks later)he informed us that it needs a pipe for installment. We purchased said pipe and gaskets at that time and also ended up purchasing a distributor cap, spark plugs & wires, and fluids for the car which should have been part of the total price. On 3/23 we paid the balance in full to pick up the car. It didn't start and we were asked to come on Mon which then became Fri.When I picked up my car it was not running right. He told us to come back after we had ran it a few miles. On 4/15, I returned the car stating all the problems. It had failed inspection due to failed manifold and leaking gaskets and a misfire in cylinder 5 which is due to engine repair and a knock sensor.0n 4/23 he informed us that it was the computer and therefore not his problem. The knock sensor part that was needed would be in on Mon. The car was picked up on 5/2 and sounded like a truck. On 5/10 at a cost of $100.00 I had a diagnostic done. They were unable to complete it until I purchased a map sensor because it was missing. At a cost of $200 I had it installed. The diagnostic concluded that the engine was bad and and it would cost $1500 to try to repair it.I contacted the mechanic and asked for a refund. He asked why was the engine bad.I asked him for their email address to send them the diagnostic report but received no response.I again requested a refund and still no response.Desired SettlementI want $1450 I paid for the service. The additional monies for parts which was about $300 for the gaskets, spark plugs and wires, fluids which come with an engine repair. The cost of the diagnostic $100 and purchase of the map sensor which was missing.Additionally I am requesting $250 for transportation cost during the time period he had my car. I cannot drive vehicle now.
