To whom it may concern,In regards to the complaint that is listed, *** *** who is the pastor's wife is the person I have spoken withShe has called several times, each and every time she was told the same thingWe will get someone there to have the "cap" shingles put back onto the steeple
This is purely a cosmetic application in which no integrity is effected to the steeple of the church. In order to reach the cap shingles in question, the individual needs a certain type of apparatus to access the areaAt present time we only have technician who is certified to do this type of work and he has been out of state for much of the last monthsWith the holiday season upon us, he should be able to get up there and have the cap shingles reinstalledThis is nothing more than a courtesy that we at Pro Source have offered to performThis is not a warranty issue whatsoeverThis is a commercial application as it is a churchThe standard warranty in the industry is year from date of install. We will have a technician get up there and reinstall the cap shingles in the next 2-weeksThis will be our resolution to this ridiculous complaint

In response to *** ***'s rejection here is my last and final replyI take offense to the fact that *** *** is not referring to Pro Source as a "professional" contractor!
We take tremendous pride in our work and our reputation*** *** had not once ever made a statement that she was unhappy with any aspect of the entire project until such time that she contacted me in November of asking me questions about settling and repaintingAt this time I told her that if she was going to repaint it would in fact be a charge and that the areas she voiced concern on would be corrected during that process and in fact there would be a costAs I do with any room that I would contract to paint, I always recaulk, patch and whatever else is needed at the time to make everything look brand newWhen I tried to explain to *** *** about settling and that it is normal, I then made reference to the fact about high levels of heat which during one conversation I had with her that her mother had kept the heat very high in order to be comfortableAgain, simple physics will prove increased levels of "dry heat" will cause additional shrinkage and settlingThis in no way affected the structure or any integrity of the homeI was only offering a simple way to understand why trim pulls away from the walls, and why there are screw popsThe heating units that we installed were what *** *** asked for as to try and save on the original estimateThey are very good units that we use in many different applications so there is no problem with themI never told *** *** how she should or shouldn't use the units, that is purely a comfort level decisionWhen I visited the site on one occasion, when we walked into the unit, the heat was very high as that is how her mother like to keep the unit for comfortAs far as the "foundation"The unit was built based of the drawings that were provided to me by *** ***the crawl space foundation was built as listed, and approved by the town building inspector as was the entire unitThe unit received a "Certificate of Occupancy" from the town of *** as meeting all current building codesAs far as the sheetrocking, taping and painting techniques here is my response to that accusation: Nothing has changed from the original completion and final walkthrough of the projectI personally along with my project manager walked through with *** *** on several occasions before the final completion of the original projectDuring these times, any and all issues that were put on a punch list were corrected to the customers satisfactionIn fact, when I collected the final payment on the contract, *** *** could not express to me how happy she was with the entire projectDuring the following months, not once did *** *** make reference to any issues with any of the painting or sheetrockingNot until she contacted and discussed that she was trying to rent the space to a tenant did any part of this conversation take placeShe told me that the future tenant wanted the entire place paintedOnly at that point did she talk about some of the "settling" issuesShe never gave me the opportunity to come out to the house to view any such conditionsTherefore, at this point there is nothing else I can do for *** *** unless she would be willing to pay my company to "paint and patch" the area as she has had other contractors come in to give an estimate forThe $she is claiming for is most likely the cost she has been quoted to "paint & patch"As a courtesy, I would be willing to offer *** *** a 20% discount on the painting and patchingIf I am not given the opportunity to correct her issue, I have no other means of satisfying herI am a full service contractor and all I am asking for is to be compensated for the time and material that she is electing to have done at a tenants request

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: Again the builder, Pro Source has offered absolutely nothing to fix the problems of a $91,000+ job that is only months old other than for me to pay them more money. As stated, I have proof from other contractors, plus pictures attached that the sheetrock and paint job was of poor quality. No matter what the reason he states, these horrible cracks, paint bubbling and nail pops and beads should NOT have occurred months after completion.
He keeps reiterating that I liked the job but that was months before these cracks and other problems showed themselves.
What contractor can tell a client after the fact that it was caused by having the heat up too high? The heat was NEVER over degrees as my mother, being from the depression era, was extremely conservative. No such comment about using the heat or having it up too high was ever made prior to these imperfections showing themselves months down the road. Also the apartment was only used for months.
This is just absurd that this builder, who only sent his project manager out one or two times to fix the door and the carpet, when other doors were also not hung correctly, could not fix the bad job done by the sheet rocker and painter after I spent such a good amount of money to have the addition built.
Again, no contracting job should fall apart like this one did after only months and only months of occupancy. The builder should pay to have this remedied. I have proof and will not take no for an answerI should be made WHOLE.Sincerely,*** ***

The overall response to this complaint is kind of surprisingThrough out the last years *** *** has contacted me several times for a variety of reasonsWhen she first reached out to me, she had a problem with a door closing and I immediately responded to her issue and the issue was addressed and correctedShe had contacted me again actually asking for a quote for carpeting to be done throughout the balance of her upstairs rooms, which I personally went out to her home and provided the quoteAt the time she choose not to move forward due to financial constraintsAt that time, she again expressed how happy she was with the overall project, which is the main reason she asked me to come out and provide her additional quotes for more workBack in either October or November of *** *** contacted me with some concerns regarding some "settling" cracks which is common place in new constructionShe also asked me about repainting the entire unit area as she was having a "new tenant" move into the space and that she wanted the whole unit repainted and repairedAgain at that time she expressed no discontent towards the projectHer main concern is that she was trying to appease her future tenantAt that time, I asked *** *** that once she figured out what she wanted to have done, that she would contact me again and that I would come out there and go through everything in person and I could at that time give her a better explanation in the areas of concern

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
The addition is only 17 months old, not 2 years as [redacted] states.  Dates of start up and completion outlined in my complaint.  And as also stated in my complaint, the first 12 months indicated no problems with cracks appearing in walls, beads and nail pops or tape exposure in ceiling.  These problems began surfacing around November 2014 when I called[redacted] and told him about the cracks. At that time he stated I would have to pay as my mother turned up the heat too high.  These heating units were supplied and installed by Pro Source with no instructions that we could not actually use the heat!  The apartment was only lived in from November 2013 to March 2014.  The inhabitant only used heat as necessary for the winter months.
Therefore I did think the work completed was originally well done in the first few months as not enough time had passed to have these issues come up.
After only 12 months unsightly cracks and bubble holes are appearing everywhere. The ceiling has nail pops and tape exposure due to poor sheetrock techniques.
I have three (3) professional contractors that have supplied written testimony to the poor workmanship in painting and sheetrock techniques and taping.   As you can see from some of the attached pictures, the work is shoddy.  Settling is not the reason for ALL these problems in the walls and ceilings as the home to which the addition is attached has not encountered any problems at all with settling. The only other reason for settling would be that the builder,  Pro Source did not create a basement foundation, only a crawlspace foundation.  Or that settling was caused by poor structural work in the first place.  But most likely, it was the person that did the sheetrock and painting.
When I requested Pro Source come out and fix the walls and ceilings, Mr. Houle agreed to only if I paid for it.  He did not agree to come out and just fix the problem that was only 12 months old when it first happened.  Therefore I do not want them to come out and they should pay the $2,000 refund so I can get this shoddy sheetrock workmanship taken care of.
Sincerely,Darlene Buckland  %3

Review: In June 2013 I hired Pro Source, LLC (State of CT Reg. # HIC[redacted]) to build a mother-in-law addition to my home. The contract was signed on 6/25/13 for $89,700.00. Completion of work was signed off on 11/6/13 and an additional $2,279.50 was requested for extra expenditures and paid. Originally I was happy with the work and then Pro Source had to come back 2 times to fix the front door which would not close properly. The Project Manager[redacted] also had to fix the wall to wall carpet which was coming loose. The carpet is still coming apart. In 2014, I had to pay another contractor $100 to fix the bedroom door which was now not closing properly as Pro Source did not want to come out again when I called. At that time, around November 2014 I also spoke to them about cracks appearing in the walls and ceiling in many spots and I was told by the owner, [redacted] that this was caused by my mother (who lived in the apartment for approximately 5 months) using the heat (having the heat up too high). The heating units ([redacted]) were installed by Pro Source. I have been informed by 3 contractors that having the heat up too high would only crack the walls and ceilings if Pro Source used green spruce instead of Douglas fir and a poor sheetrock taping technique. Pro Source has refused to fix the problem. Not only are there cracks in walls, there are cracks now appearing along the ceiling line, nail popping and the tape is showing through and in the bathroom there are cracks in the ceiling and corner beads. In addition, the wall paint has bubbled due to air pockets. THIS ADDITION IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD and was only lived in for 5 months at most. The apartment needs to be made as new for the above reasons.Desired Settlement: $2,000 for Spectrum Interiors to repair the above named imperfections.

Review: Pro Source was contracted to replace the roof on the [redacted] Church in 2013, a major roofing project. Shingles have fallen off the roof several times since the original installation. This summer additional shingles fell off which to date have not been replaced.

a minimum of 8 calls have been made to request the re[placement of the shingles. Promises were made by Russ Houle on two occasions with no action.Desired Settlement: Additionally, the keys to our church and Genesis Center have not been returned despite requests to do so.

This is not a warranty issue whatsoever. This is a commercial application as it is a church. The standard warranty in the industry is 1 year from date of install. We will have a technician get up there and reinstall the cap shingles in the next 2-4 weeks. This will be our resolution to this ridiculous complaint.
