Complaint Information: I have just read the customers complaintAfter the job was completed the customer notified me that there were tiles that were crackedI had to remove old equipment from the lower level of a raised ranch which was finished and had to go across a tiled floor, every
precaution was taken to remove the old equipment, including using a pneumatic tired hand truckWhen the customer contacted me about cracked tiles I went to their house to inspect themThe customer had to mark the tiles with tape because they were not visible until I got on my hands and kneesI cannot say if they were there prior to the removal of old equipmentThe customer stated she had estimates to replace tiles which I thought was excessive, but offered to pay half towards the replacementI had stated to customer that I had noticed what I believe was a floating floor which to my knowledge does not lay flat against the concrete floor in the basement, which may have been a problem, whether it occured from removing their equipment or from something elseregardless the equipment was in a utility room and when people finish areas where you need access to and from them without proper consideration for access and removal, you run the risk of these problemsi am not a flooring person so I do not know the limitations of a ceramic tile floor which is not layed down on a concrete basement floor, so again I just offered to split the cost of the repair but the customer did not accept my offer

I am rejecting this response because Mr. [redacted] did not state that he thought the quote was to high only that "with a floating floor you run the risk of damage".  The offer to pay half was only made when I stated that I was going to file a complaint with the Revdex.com which was too late.  If he thought the amount was excessive then as a business owner I would assume he would find someone who could fix the damage made during the conversion to natural gas for a cheaper amount.  Mr. [redacted] stated that the damage may have been there prior to the removal and that is not the case.  I have attached images of two tiles and it is evident that there is severe damage which would have been noticed prior to the installation of any new equipment.  Regardless of the style or type of flooring is it not the businesses responsibility to rectify any damage caused??  In the numerous times Mr. [redacted] came to the house and looked at the area to be worked in, did he ever state that there would be an issue.  In reviewing the paperwork, there was no disclaimer in regards to damage.
