Pro Tire Sales & Service Reviews (1)

I am unsatisfied, left the shop with issues and now have more issues and owner would not handle them or take credit for them.Needed an oil change, purchased a [redacted] for Pro Tire of Raleigh. Car always goes to the Honda dealership, no issues. Just wanted to get an oil change, in and out. Owner [redacted] worked on my car. Spent 5+ hours there, he brought me a stripped oil plug, told me I needed a new one to leave. Spent money to get another.. he put in a rubber boa plug, this was 4/20/16. Car went into the Honda dealership to be looked over before I travelled out of town. This was 5/12/16. The guys at the Honda freaked out. That part was not intended for my car. I now have additional damage, need an oil pan and possible transmission issues. I did not damage the plug. I was damaged when taken out. Contacted the owner, he said he didn't do it and he didn't know why I was contacting him. He took advantage of a naïve girl that doesn't know about cars. Then he accused me of knowing the car had issues and bringing it to him to intentionally blame him for damage already done. This man is insane and doing people wrong.Desired SettlementI do not and will not allow him to touch my car. I want for him to pay for the damage done to my car.Business Response To Whom it may concern,My name is [redacted] I am the owner and was present on the day this supposed incident occurred. I personally performed the service on this vehicle and spoke with this customer. The threads on the drain plug were striped and attached to the drain plug. I reported it to the customer, gave the plug to her to keep and also told her that the bottom of the car had oil on it as if it may be leaking. I also informed her that the oil in the car before the oil was removed was not measureable by the oil check stick. I explained to her that a oversize replacement drain plug may be available and I would order one if I could. the local parts supplier did not have one. I spent a lot of time and effort to find a suitable repair type drain plug. So I had to order a universal type of drain plug to go in the car for the customer to leave with the car that did not depend on the oil pans threads to hold it in place. The customer was informed of this. The customer was asked what she would like to do at that time, not after the job was completed, instead she was asked at the time of me finding out and stopping to inform the customer of the situation and to explain to her what I could do for her to get her going again. I do not feel like I have done any wrong doings here. Her father called me up on a later day(he works at a dealership in the service department in a high ranking position) and informed me that he had done all the previous service to the vehicle and demanded that I pay for a new oil pan to be installed on the car(I don't think he knew at that time that I was personally involved). I refused (I personally preformed this service and know that the damage was not a result of my doings). I do however feel like there is something wrong with this scenario. The car was supposedly serviced at the dealership for every service yet it had oil on the bottom of the engine that appeared to have been leaking for a while, three of the tires were worn out and the oil was not readable by the check stick before the job was done, not only that there is a problem with the drain plug, this car did not give the impression that it had been regularly maintained by a top notch facility and in tip top shape. Now from my point of view something does not add up . To much tiring to blame for something that cannot be blamed its kind of a fraudulent type thing from my view point. Why would this vehicle be here if the service manager of a dealership daughter owned it and it was serviced and maintained regularly at that dealership every time except this once. Also there was nothing hidden from this customer she was informed of it all and explained to what options I could offer for her(and I took the time to try to make sure she understood her options at that point and did not rush her). I was even threatened by the father whom is a professional (in the same field of work )that his daughter would do everything she could to give me a bad name (slander). I do not appreciate the threat and especially from one professional to another who should know better than this. I have had several dealings with him over the last twenty years, none were like this I am very shocked and appalled. I am a very customer originated and do go over and above for my customers. I do give goodwill for issues that any of my customers may have weather I am at fault or not. I do it for the relationship that either is or that will be. In this case the customer is bad mouthing, giving false information, and also saying she does not want to have me touch her car again, so there is no need for goodwill at this point. I do feel like I'm being falsely accused for doing a wrong that I know was not so. I simply did what I believed and still do believe was the right thing to do given the situation in hand and most likely would do the same if I were presented with the same scenario again.
