Pro Wash

On September 22, 2016 [redacted] called and said his wife drove her car through my automatic carwash. He stated that the back left bumper was pulled loose. I told him to bring the car to our office so I could examine it, After inspecting the vehicle it appeared that the plastic bumper covering...

had been slightly pulled out of place. After pushing the bumper back into place I noticed that there was a bolt missing up under the bumper that held the plastic into position. I brought this to his attention. The car wash did not cause that bolt to be removed. I offered to have a local body shop replace the bolt, which would cost about five dollars. Mr. Wadsworth could have easily replaced the bolt himself but he did not. In my opinion the bolt was missing when they purchased the used car a couple of months prior. When [redacted] left my office that day his car was in the condition before he went through my Carwash, undamaged.In the meantime , he continued to drive the car. The next time I talked to [redacted] some time had past, That's when he told me that the back bumper was now ripped. I told him to take it to the body shop, I then received an estimate for $900. I can not see how this extent of damage could have been done to the back bumper by just driving it. I also have a sign at the entrance of my Carwash that states that if there is any part loose on a car it should not be taken through the Carwash. In my opinion the responsibility to replace that bolt that was already missing falls upon the owner. The damage was caused to the fact he should not have been driving it without the bolt.
