May 17, 2020 I gave Probuilt $5575.00 (50% down) to screen in my lower deck and place dry underdecking. I am aware that there is a wait for these kinds of projects. I am aware that there is a pandemic.
At this moment in time I STILL HAVE NO SCREENED PORCH NOR DRY UNDERDECKING.
So they have had my money and now refuse to return ALL of it for the reason that material for the screened porch was purchased for my project.
I am not the reason the project couldn't be completed. They are. I have a contract. It does not mention that they get to keep my money when the nonstart/completion of the job was ENTIRELY THEIR FAULT. I have recently found out that the project can't be completed because their underdecking guy is overtasked and has been unable to get to me.
I was kept in the dark for a long while without being told the reason for the long wait. On three occasions a list of clients and what we were waiting on was sent out but every single time I spoke with Chris Oswalt, he would promise to get back to me with SPECIFICS on MY delay, on a certain day and a certain time, and never did. I would always have to remind him that he told me he would call me back, by calling him first. Had communication been better I could be more patient.
Once I was told that the screened porch can't happen until the underdecking happens first, I requested a FULL REFUND from the company so that I can start over and find another company to do the job.
PROBUILT IS REFUSING ME A FULL REFUND OF $5575.00!
It is their position that I can have the money that I was going to pay them for the underdecking but I have to either purchase the material needed to screen my deck from them or I am forced to let them do the job.
All I want is my money so that I can move on with my life. Please help me rectify this.

Miss T, again we are sorry for the delays that we are faced with. It’s definitely different times we are dealing with. We don’t do the underdecking in house as we’ve explained previously. We allowed you to find a contractor that does that portion of the work as ours who has had an enormous spike in sales this year due to Covid 19 . As many suffer in business other specialty companies are extremely busy. Many manufacturers had been closed for several weeks and even months, we’ve had products on order for many months that still are not fulfilled. Lumber has spiked 33 % this is not a Probuilt problem alone it’s the entire industry. I agreed with you that if you found a contractor that could get to it before our insured contractor, that I would refund you at 18.00 per sq ft which is exactly what we charged you and after that work was completed Probuilt would complete the remaining portion of the contract. Now you are refusing that all together, so I’ve then offered a refund on the underdecking as well as giving you the materials we’ve purchased and then canceling your contract. You’ve refused that offer as well. We can’t offer you more than that as we’ve purchased for your project alone. You’ve stated that we do screens as a part of our business but we really don’t do them without a larger scope and is why we want you to take the materials purchase along with the refund we’ve been offering throughout several emails and conversions, or accept our offer to immediately start the screen work after your contractor has completed the underdecking and fulfill our contract as you originally agreed to . We wish to move forward just like you do. Please let us know what fair option we’ve offered will satisfy you so you get your project fulfilled.
Their quality of work is top notch. I was very pleased with the overall design and look of the fire pit and patio they installed.
Pro Built Patio did a fantastic job on the install and completion of our in ground pool. Work was done in a timely manner. Chris, the owner, is knowledgeable and was always easy to contact and replied back quickly if I had questions about anything. Great crews. Will definitely use in the future for more outdoor projects.
We hired pro built patio enclosures to build our in-ground pool and patio. Chris, the owner, walked us through every step of the way and was very easy to get ahold of if there were questions. The project was finished in a timely manner and the pool and patio turned out spectacular. We were impressed with the crews, that work for Chris, they were diligent and hardworking. We would recommend pro built patio to anyone.
Beware. Although up front, everything seems to be buttoned up, this is a very poorly organized business. Contracted with PBP for an outside kitchen/addition in Nov 2018. Seemed organized and professional. Required 50% down to sign contract. Took over a year to finish because of innumerable delays. Weather delayed project start to July 2019 according to Chris, but finally began after I threatened to cancel. Very poorly organized overall. Had to personally coordinate subs, had to call Chris back many times because of inadequate or incomplete job performance. Finally finished 13 months later. Overall product looks good in the end, but unless you want to do much of the legwork yourself, I would look elsewhere...
Probuilt Patio turned our deck into a beautiful screened porch with a roof. I was very pleased with the quality workmanship.
Quality is their best attribute. Probuilt Patio Enclosures Inc install a great product and work to get all the details right. Probuilt is not happy until it is done right and we are happy. The sunroom is a great addition to our home and we are looking forward to many worry free years of enjoyment. All guests that see the sunroom are amazed.
I am pleased with the work Probuilt did. It took a while for the job to get started but once it began, it was a steady pace. I found Chris, Dallas, Paul, Matt, Cory, Serg and Daniel to all be knowledgeable and courteous. There were definite bumps in the road, weather related, but Chris and his crew, were responsive to my concerns and addressed all problems.
We are very pleased with our experience with Probuilt. They built a screened in porch for us where there had been nothing. We signed the contract in late July and they started in December, completed it in February. We knew it was going to be a while before they started when we signed the contract, and all other delays were weather related this winter, which they can do nothing about. Minus weather delays, the job went quickly. They had great communication with regular emails from the office and texts from the crew. The crew did an incredible job and was very respectful of our property. They even nailed the old steps to the new framework, along with some plywood so that our dog could still go into the backyard during the construction phase. Friends in the construction business who have seen the porch commented on the good job they did. We're very pleased and would not hesitate to recommend them.
