Ineffective management and mousy as heck. Even managers on the cooperated level seem to be perpetuated this mousy behavior. This was a sad experience. They would rather make you the problem than deal with the real issues.

Review: [redacted] are charging my husband and I $2,394.30 for past due rent of the months of July, August, and September of 2013. We have a bank statement and check stub stating we paid July. We moved out of the Apartments on Aug. 7, 2013 because we had been in the process of buying a house since May of 2013. We asked management if we would be allowed to pay our August rent (due 1-4 every month) half at the beginning then the remaining on the 9th because we were trying to close on our house and one of our loan programs we were going through required proof of a specific amount of funds in our bank account. They were extremely rude and said no that is not possible. We then got a letter on our door the 6th of August stating we have 3 Days to pay or in alternative, surrender the premises. Since they gave us the option to pay or leave, we were able to get an early occupancy agreement between ourselves and the owners of the house we were buying and moved out of [redacted] on the 7th of AUG 2013. We turned in our keys to management of the [redacted] on the 9th of AUG and in return they said they would call us with an available time for a walk through. The never called, nor contacted us in any way. Now 2 months later they are trying to charge us for an apartment that has been vacant for 2 months. We were also out of lease as of June. Since we were buying a new house we told them we would not be resigning a lease and would just be paying month to month. They are trying to charge us for cleaning charges and replacements (damage fees) when they never contacted us or returned our calls when they said they would. We left that apartment in very good shape. We had many people helping us move and even clean walls, carpets, and all just so they would feel like we weren't leaving them with sour bitter feelings towards them. Because we were very grateful and happy they furnished us with a home our first 8 months of marriage.Desired Settlement: I would like to know where they are coming up with the money we supposedly owe them. I have all the paperwork we signed at the beginning of moving in also I have the paper from August 6, 2013 stating we had an option to pay them or leave. I have proof we paid our rent for July and the woman we turned our keys into wrote down and signed a paper in front of us saying we turned in our keys. If it is not resolved in a logical manner, My husband and I are more than willing to pursue further action.

The Prodigy Property Management employee managing Washington Square II in Richland, Washington, charged me for a month of rent and for breaking my lease when she claimed I did not submit my notice to vacate. I did in fact submit my notice to her own mailbox, have witnesses, and will not allow her to extort undue rent from me. She also told former tenants she would make extra effort to rent their apartment after they had to terminate their lease early. She then took 3 months to remodel the unit, an extraordinary amount of time for the work performed, and the former tenants had to pay rent for all 3 months! She may do what it takes to bring in income for the property owners, but it is at the expense of the tenants. Very disappointed. Robert Young Communities used to be classy!
