While I do not totally dispute Mathews message, I do not agree with their answerno where do they bother to mention the timingAfter test driving the car I told the salesman about the rattling and thumping I noticed he advised me it was minorWe also noticed the horn did not workThese were only minor [problemswhen they fixed the horn and safety check had been preformed we signed for the car and my daughter took the car to Marion (where she lives)The next day we were advised by my daughter (***) the car over heatedI had it towed back to Mathews and was advised it was the thermostat had crackedThey (Mathews) implement the so/so warrantyThat cost me to repairI asked them to preform a complete safety check and was advised the car needed an additional on the susphad I been told the car needed that much work we would have never purchased the car! I asked to split the cost and was told noI talked with former Mathews for service manager and he advised me that Mathews would never put a vehicle like that for sale before advising the buyer about the problems, Mathews has offered no resolution to this situations once that time I have purchased all the parts needed to make the car soundI also found an auto repair show in Marion that had completed some of the work and will complete necessary repairs by the end of Decemberto date I have purchased all parts required and paid part of the laborby the time this is accomplished I will have spent 1400-dollarsat this time I except Mathews to reimburse to dollars to settle this problemI await your answers Mathews.Thank You

My sales staff do not make any determinations as to mechanical longevity nor durability. At no time was I advised by my sales staff that there were any concerns about the vehicle. Also, both the buyer and co-buyer signed several documents regarding the purchase and at that time if these were legitimate concerns you had my finance department is well versed that if there are issues or problems that the client bring up during closing to stop the delivery process. The vehicle was purchased on 11-6 and on 11-7 was when the horn was brought to our attention. on 11-10 the vehicle was serviced again for the coolant issue. Even though external coolant components are not covered under the 30 day 500 mile limited powertrain warranty we did those repairs and we absorbed half of the total cost of that service. While the vehicle was in our service department you requested a more thorough inspection and to advise you of anything my service department deemed needing replaced. At the conclusion of that inspection I had my service department calculate the cost of the requested repairs at both internal labor and parts cost. When you were given that estimate by me you stated that "Mathews will not get another penny of my money." Neither I nor Mathews Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Mt Vernon have any intentions to reimburse you for work that we diagnosed which YOU chose to have done elsewhere. It is disappointing to me that you had a forgettable experience and we all try to honor reasonable requests of clients but we cannot make every vehicle perfect. I apologize again for the inconvenience.

[redacted] WE appreciate the opportunity to help. In this matter there are a few omissions that need to be addressed. We did a simple safety inspection upon which time we must have missed the horn. When you brought the vehicle back we repaired the horn, no cost, and then were advised a day later that the...

car had lost all coolant. Even though the vehicle was sold with a Limited warranty powertrain components covering you for 30 days from purchase in which if a problem arose we "the dealer" would pay 50% of all parts and labor and the client would pay the other 50%. Under that agreement we obliged. We also have documentation signed buy you and your daughter supporting this fact. Upon your request a more thorough inspection was administered, at no charge to you, at that time the items totaled which did not present an immediate safety concern would be an additional $1,426.45. You were advised of that fact and at that time you declined any additional work to be performed by Mathews of Mt Vernon. You stated that we were not getting any more of your money and took the car. If there is money to be saved to address these concerns I will happily save you that. Please let me know what number to reach either you or your daughter.
