There are many issues to be addressed in the homeowner's complaint
Firstly, the inspector's report, which states: "Overall, the level of workmanship observed was satisfactory." The report lists areas in need of address
– "Front and rear dormer wood replacement." This damage was pre-existing and outside the scope of our repairs
– "Observed a number of shingles that appear to have been damaged and repaired with surface application of Mastic, rather than replacement." Our inclination is that the damage was caused by the chimney repair person the homeowner hired after our work on the roof was complete
– "Rear dormer face elevation is in need of proper flashing between the windows." To our knowledge, there is no issue and no leak in the area of the rear windows– "Surface nailing of ridge caps at center of building have silicone caulking that is ineffective and minimally, require proper sealant that will adhere to granular shingle surfaces." The product on the roof which the adjustor refers to as 'silicone' is actually a roofing sealant which does adhere to granular shingle surfaces
Additionally, the inspector lists insufficient repairs to the chimney as a cause to leaksThe chimney repair work was contracted independently by the homeowner, after our roof repair was complete, and is therefore, not covered by our warranty
The homeowner was repeatedly informed that the chimney was in dire need of significant repairsShe held off on having the repairs done until she had a leak after heavy rains in December When the chimney repairs were finally made, the leaking stopped
The chimney cap was repaired, rather than replaced, and large gaps were left in the mortar, resulting in bricks which are loose enough to be removed by handNew issues lead us to believe that the new leaks were caused by the improper and incomplete repairs to the chimney, not the roof which was completed for many months before any leaks were brought to our attentionSecondly, interior damage was part of the initial claim and the homeowner chose to use that money to pay for the portion of her siding that insurance did not coverShe chose to not have us complete the interior workLater, she hired a contractor to complete those same interior repairs, claiming it was new damage we had causedIn the interest of settling the matter amicably, Professional Exteriors Increimbursed her for the interior work that was done, at which point, we understood the matter to be settled
Thirdly, the complaints from the homeowner have come in sporadically, and we have addressed them as she has allowedWe have repeatedly attempted to contact her via house phone, cell phone and email in hopes of resolving the issue
In summary, we do not feel that we have any further monetary obligation to the complainantWe have gone above and beyond our warranty, paying for repairs to damage that we did not causeShould there be further work which requires our attention, we are happy to address these concerns further with the homeowner

Additionally, the inspector lists insufficient repairs to the chimney as a cause to leaks. The chimney repair work was contracted independently by the homeowner, after our roof repair was complete, and is therefore, not covered by our warranty. The homeowner was repeatedly informed that the chimney was in dire need of significant repairs. She held off on having the repairs done until she had a leak after heavy rains in December 2015. When the chimney repairs were finally made, the leaking stopped. The chimney cap was repaired, rather than replaced, and large gaps were left in the mortar, resulting in bricks which are loose enough to be removed by hand. New issues lead us to believe that the new leaks were caused by the improper and incomplete repairs to the chimney, not the roof which was completed for many months before any leaks were brought to our attention.Secondly, interior damage was part of the initial claim and the homeowner chose to use that money to pay for the portion of her siding that insurance did not cover. She chose to not have us complete the interior work. Later, she hired a contractor to complete those same interior repairs, claiming it was new damage we had caused. In the interest of settling the matter amicably, Professional Exteriors Inc. reimbursed her for the interior work that was done, at which point, we understood the matter to be settled. Thirdly, the complaints from the homeowner have come in sporadically, and we have addressed them as she has allowed. We have repeatedly attempted to contact her via house phone, cell phone and email in hopes of resolving the issue. In summary, we do not feel that we have any further monetary obligation to the complainant. We have gone above and beyond our warranty, paying for repairs to damage that we did not cause. Should there be further work which requires our attention, we are happy to address these concerns further with the homeowner.
