Professional Floor Covering, Inc. Reviews (5)

I have attached Professional Floor Covering Inc's contract for Mr. [redacted]. No plumbing was included in Mr. Boelter's contract which he signed and agreed to.

As stated in a letter received from the Revdex.com, "So far, we only have one side of the story, and we are interested in hearing your side as well. The Revdex.com offers you the opportunity to preserve consumer goodwill by addressing the issues presented in the complaint on the reverse side."  Due to the on going nature of the complaint, Professional Floor Covering declines to comment at this time outside of stating that factual inaccuracies exist in the complaint.  Once the complaint is resolved in it's entirety, Professional Floor Covering will provide a full response.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The business states that this is an ongoing matter; I don't understand this as they have refused all my requests to discuss.  I will take this matter to court.
Regards,
[redacted]

Review: I contracted with Profession Floor Covering to tile our bathroom floor and shower area plus for a glass shower enclosure. We paid the entire bill of $9,653.17 up front. When the work was finished the floor tiles were uneven to the point where you would stub your toes on the edges. The shower tiles were unevenly spaced and uneven in depth. The shower door company would not install the door because the base for the shower was not level. The heat mat under the floor was installed incorrectly and had two electrical wires coming up in two separate areas that could not be connected to the thermostat that was installed by the electrician.

I called to tell them I was not happy with the install job-it did not look professional and was unacceptable. [redacted], owner of Professional Floor covering, asked me what I wanted him to do. I told him I wanted the uneven tiles removed and relayed; that's what I paid for. I wanted the uneven shower tiles redone and the base leveled so the door could be installed and also lay a new heat mat. He did not agree to this, but agreed to coming back and laying a new floor over the top of the uneven tiles that were already there. He told me the electrician could splice the wires and put them behind the wall (this was against code).

After checking with the electrician, another contractor, and the shower door installer (all said this was unacceptable) I called [redacted] and asked for floor tiles, shower tiles, grout and a heat mat so that I could have the floor installed by someone else. He gave me floor tiles and 1 box of shower tiles. I had to purchase the grout and a new heat mat.

Upon demolition of the tiles it was found that the tiles were installed with the wrong adhesive. The contractor was able to peal the tiles off the wall and floor with his fingers (no tools required). None of the adhesive was dry behind the tiles (after 3 weeks) and the grout had curved around the back of each tile, leaving a gap between the tiles and walls. Most of the tiles had no adhesive on the back of them (installed incorrectly). We ended up having to remove every piece of tile and back board and redo everything. I had to purchase new tile for the shower, pay to have everything removed again, have the floor re-leveled, and pay a contractor to re-tile everything. I contacted [redacted] again by mail asking for a refund and he would not return my call.Desired Settlement: I paid $9,653.17 to have the work completed. I received the shower door which was $2,358.00. I am asking for a refund of the balance $7,295.17.
