Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: March 27, The response which was provided by Yale Surgical is totally absurd and lacking pertinent information relative to this matterI just spoke with [redacted] and the reason for the denial of the claim submitted by Yale Surgical was that further medical documentation regarding the second brace in concern needed to be provided by them of which I was never advised of such [redacted] also stated that this information was never resubmitted and I was never advised of this problem of further medical documentation neededI would like to further mention that the denial from [redacted] was sent to me, however I may have overlooked such The reason for that being my son [redacted] has been hospitalized approaching three years and the medical claims that are sent to me are overwhelming and I no doubt may have overlooked MY denial of that particular claimI am my sons legal guardian and I just recently purged all of the paperwork and claims for that particular year of One more matter I would like to mention is that the day which I was fitted and received the brace, I was NEVER advised that I may be financially responsible for the cost of the device.I have since obtained the medical notes from my doctor relative to that days medical appointment with the request for the need of the new braceToday I am also submitting these notes to [redacted] through the appeal process I also am seeking legal counsel on this matter for all the embarrassment caused me as well as all my valuable and unnecessary time which I have spent trying to rectify this matter Sincerely, [redacted]

Response: Patient was fit with a brace in He was seen in the office and was told this is not a guarantee of payment, patient signed paperwork and was fit with braceThe brace was denied by *** and the patient was billedOur billing department has been working on old claims and patient
called the office questioning the billHe was very upset and said he never received any billsThe girls in billing are trying to work with him on a payment plan to work out what is best for himHe asked that I give him a call back on the 8thI was out on the 9th and didn't call back until the 10th and left a message on his machinePatient called back on 3/13/he had explained his concerns and I recommended he appeal this claim because I could not do anything else on my end per insuranceI recommend to call the md and obtain notes and a letter of medical necessity on how the race has helped reduce his painI also mentioned a payment plan, patient was very pleasant to speak with and I understand his frustrationSent on: 3/23/2:15:PM

Response: I am responding to the letter I received in the mail todayI did respond a couple weeks ago with the assigned number on the original letter*** *** came in to the office back on Feb 20th and ordered some shoes, this was a company we do not order from that often so they would take a
little longer than usual*** *** called and asked if her shoes were in we noticed they were not in yet so we called the *** shoe companyThey stated they did not ship the shoes out because of an outstanding bill from last yearThe accounts payable department called and *** had made a mistake and applied our payment to another invoiceWe had the shoes shipped two day air and the company had sent the wrong colorThe company reprocessed and shipped out the right pair of shoesOn 3/31/we called the patient to come in and try the shoes on*** *** came in on 4/25/we added the shoe lift on while she waited and did not charge her the for the liftWe told the family how very sorry we were and gave them the info in *** ***s chart for any future work she would need
