 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
The information provided by the business is not completely accurate. It is a fact that on May 1, 2015 at 8:20 PM, Mr. M[redacted] did contact us regarding our 2014 tax return.  As far as Mr. M[redacted] asking me why I filed a complaint is not accurate because if he had I would have gladly explained the reasons. He expressed to me that he received the complaint and he "was not pleased, as a matter of fact not happy at all about it" and that I must have been upset when I faxed the information to him to begin with and he planned on disputing the complaint and then proceeded to request further information to complete my taxes and give me my amount due and amount I would receive along with my email address to send me the link to pay the preparation fee of $140.00 for myself and my husband.
I am not sure where there is a misunderstanding on Mr. M[redacted] part why I filed the complaint initially. Firstly, I faxed our information to him January 30, 2015. I then waited one month until I called to check on the status of our returns and was told on the first message left by his assistant that Mr. M[redacted] had been sick and he was working on our taxes that weekend and to call back at the beginning of the week if I had not got a call from them. I then waited until the end of the week to call about the status and never received a call back until after multiple calls and messages and several weeks later, I was left another message by his assistant saying again that he was working on them this weekend and he would have them finished Sunday. I then again called multiple times leaving messages requesting the information and stating that I would have to take another action to get the information I was requesting. I finally spoke to Mr. M[redacted] assistant in April and was told that I couldn't expect a 4 or 5 day turn around after I fax the tax information and expect them to be done because that doesn't happen anymore and for the third time I was told they would be done Sunday.  My husband also called 2 to 3 times with no response.
Only did I get a response and my taxes completed when the complaint was filed and Mr. M[redacted] received the details. I would have taken my taxes to someone else to be completed had I not been told by his assistant that Mr. M[redacted] was working on them and they would be completed by Sunday on 3 separate occasions. If someone had told me that it would be 3 months from the time our tax information was faxed until completion, then I could have had another business prepare my taxes and not have had the expectation that Mr. M[redacted] was finishing them and would have them done "this weekend."
First of all why would I have been upset when I faxed the information January 30, 2015 but waited until 3 months later after to file a complaint?  I don't see what filing a complaint and being upset when I faxed information about our taxes has anything to do with the other unless Mr. M[redacted] has the impression that I had just faxed the information a few days prior to me filing the complaint which was not the case. I wouldn't have a reason to be upset when initially sending information to him to start the preparation in January. That doesn't make sense.  If that was the case, I would have filed the complaint in February instead of April and never attempted to contact Mr. M[redacted] or his assistant prior to filing the complaint.
Secondly, why couldn't someone have been honest and truthful from the start when I called and asked about the status of our taxes and just say that the taxes have not been done and they won't be done for a while and I  should or could have them done by someone else if I didn't want to wait? Instead I was put off several times and given false information several times and was led to believe by his assistant that the taxes would be completed "this weekend" several times even after I left messages saying just let me know if they are done, not done, if we owe or don't owe.
So as I stated in the beginning, I don't understand why there would be a misunderstanding or question as to why I filed a complaint unless Mr. M[redacted] did not read the specifics of the complaint in its entirety or if he has been misinformed or given the wrong facts about the situation from the beginning. I did receive the information as stated with the exception of the hard copy of our taxes as of the time of this response.
Regards,
[redacted]
