Progressive Realty Reviews (2)

Dirty rental, repairs never made as promised, tried to deny security deposit when we moved out. Finally paid us back only some of deposit. We moved into a rental property managed by Progressive Realty in 2011. When we moved in, the place had NOT been cleaned. The carpets had dirt and hair all over them. Tub and shower dirty. Several red and black stains on carpet throughout house. Glass around front door broken. spots on walls had been touched up before we moved in, but the paint didn't match. We were told it didn't match yet because it just hadn't dried. Well, weeks and months later, it still never matched and looked awful. Damaged items and areas were noted before we moved in, and we were told they would be repaired asap. NONE of it was ever repaired. When we moved out, they didn't give us any of our security deposit back. They kept putting us off, saying that they the lady who was handling our property didn't work there anymore. When we tried to see the owner, Ms. [redacted], in the office, they wouldn't let us see or speak to her. They said she was busy or in a meeting each time. Finally we got to speak to her, and she said we never paid a security deposit. Good thing I kept my receipts. I had to argue math with her to make her understand that we DID pay a security deposit. I showed her several times before she finally agreed that we did pay it. She said we'd get the money back soon. We emailed back and forth and called for months. Most times we called, no one called back. We almost had to end up filing a lawsuit, but then they finally (about a year later) gave PART of our deposit back. They held the rest saying that there were neighborhood association fees that we owed. We were NEVER informed of ANY neighborhood association fees. This business is very unprofessionally run.Desired Settlementnone

Went into office to apply for houses. Office said it was three times the rent due to bad credit. At Lease signing noticed it was not true.I went into office to apply for a home after we had fire that burned our house down. Myself and my friend went in to speak with a women named [redacted] for her to run credit and see what I could quailfy for. She told us of alot of homes and had my friend sign alot of papers with no writing. The next day we met with [redacted] and saw a home that we immediately feel in love with she said that it would be first and last months rent I told her that was fine. And she asked for a deposit I gave her 1800 deposit. She then called and said she had a home with more space that was bigger and the guy would work with me. So we went to see that house and the rent was higher there so she said I needed 2300 so I gave her 500 more. We were staying in a hotel so we needed immediate housing myself and my 5 kids so I asked when it would be ready she said in 7days. 7days turned into 2 months still no house so I asked for my depositeback in a meeting with the manager they stated that they were intitled to my deposit because I didn't get the house that I had ppaid the deposit on but the house was still not ready not evenowmed by them. They were waiting on the house to close. So me and the realtor had words and the manager decided to let someone else work with me. So I begin working with another realtor named [redacted] who was very nice we used myself and my aunt for a home we applied for together because of my credit history. They told me it was three times the rent down. Because of my credit even though my aunt has good credit. So I ended up giving them 4950 total when I go to sign the lease I see that only a 1500 dollar deposite and first month of 1650 the leasing agent from [redacted] and Company showed me the money orders pregressive gave them. That left 1800 I contacted them about this and they statedit was there commission . Nothing I signed said that after loosing everything in a house fire they used that to their advantage. They kept telling me it was three times the rent to get the house and they knew that it was only the deposit and first month.Desired Settlement1800Business' Initial Response Dear **. [redacted] circumstances were very unfortunate while at the same time very unique. In order to accommodate her large family in a comfortable residence it took time to find prospective properties considering **. [redacted] marginal credit and recent judgment in addition to her extended hotel stay. I assigned two of my best agents to this file when normally a customer is only allotted one agent. We worked persistently with **. [redacted] showing her several houses to ensure that she was happy in the end. After we all had worked so hard to get her and her family settled in a home that they could be comfortable in, she assured us that she was happy and even sent flowers and balloons to our office thanking us for our work. It is our sincere regret that **. [redacted] turned out to be dissatisfied with the services provided, however we did far more than our due diligence on **.
