I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS FIRST If I had, I never would have contracted with these guysLike others have said, the owner, *** *** seemed very customer oriented and well experienced in remodeling a condominiumThe project included complete demolition of the kitchen and bathrooms, removal of the popcorn ceiling, and some drywall work and framingOnce the project started, there seemed to be no plan or idea of scheduling Specific complaints include
CLEANLINESS Condos have strict rules concerning cleanliness during renovationsThe popcorn ceiling and other drywall work was completed with no cleanupAs a result, we received numerous complaints from the condo managementAfter I insisted that they clean up, they showed up with one guy with a hand truck and a broomI had to help their worker for over hours, by providing an additional hand truck and carrying trash to the truckAfterwards, I spent two days cleaning drywall dust throughout the condo
QUALITYMuch of the work seemed rushed and of poor qualityI showed their representative a wall that was supposed to be skimmedYou could see swirls, lines, and ridges throughoutI had to reskim and sand the wall myselfThis took another hours
SCHEDULINGAs part of the contract, I requested that a pantry be expandedWhen they removed a wall, they found that there was an electrical trunk running through the wall so the pantry could not be expandedThey stopped work on the entire unit pending changes to the original plan, even though this affected only a part of the total workProlific’s representative seemed to have no idea of when workers were on site or items are to be deliveredWhen I requested changes to the ceiling, their representative did not even know the popcorn removal process was underway Cabinets were delivered without our knowledge or Prolific’s representativeWhen I asked him when the cabinets would be installed, he wasn’t sure if cabinet installation was part of the contract(It was clearly listed on the contract)Scheduling was complicated by a total lack of knowledge of how long it took to perform the work and the order that work needs to be accomplishedThey were going to put cabinets up before prepping the area and paintingThey stated they would clean up the drywall dust when they lay the flooringWe had to insist they had to clean since you cannot paint until the dust has been abated
SAFETYElectrical lines were disconnected and left bareTheir worker picked up the line for the dishwasher and shorted against a metal stud while cleaning upIt was live and laying on the floorElectrical wires should be taped and capped during remodelingThis will prevent a hazard whether the power is off or onThis was a major safety hazard and very dangerous
PRICINGI accepted a single price for demo and drywall repair for the first contractI asked for a price to install counters and tile the bathroomThey gave me a one-line price for all the workThey could not even tell me the price of the tile even though it came from their shop
CUSTOMER SERVICEWe received numerous complaints from the condo managementThis includes deliveries without advance notification, cleanliness, and rudeness to the condo management staffOne of Prolific’s workers mouthed off to the maintenance manThe worst actions came from *** ***I called him out of frustration due to all of the aboveWhen I went to the office, he refused to come out of his office and totally ignored me and my wife the whole time we were there, relying instead on his incompetent representative to handle us
BOTTOM LINEI would never ever contract work with this firm againTheir incompetence coupled with the lack of respect shown by *** *** led me to cancel the flooring portion of the contract and I refused to pay an additional amount for skimming the wallThe only good part of this whole experience was seeing this firm in my rear view mirror

I had the kitchen remodel done in late & continuing into It took longer than I expected, but the wait was worth it The cabinetry still looks brand new after all this time The drawers are all dovetailed, a sign of quality The only maintenance I do is to wipe off spills & dirty fingerprints with a damp cloth occasionally The finishing touches are still as good as ever Though I had some annoyances at first, in this space of time they all seem minor & I am completely satisfied after all using the kitchen daily

My kitchen cabinets are beautiful The quality and design are exactly as I dreamed *** was a patient and kind salesman and delivered a excellent kitchen according to my specifications
The installation of the cabinets was not the same quality experience I must honestly say, that the installation process was a nightmare The work was poorly done and the worker was a miserable person It is my understanding that this installer was fired after the completion of my cabinet install
The project manager, ***, came back to resolve most of the major issues except one major concern, the refrigerator scratch There is still a 4-inch scratch gouged into my refrigerator door from the installer I provided pictures to show there was no scratch on the first day of installation but a scratch resulted on the second day of installation
I have expressed my dissatisfaction with the owner, *** I tried to resolve this with Prolific Cabinetry but have has no response from the owner I have called several times, let messages with his secretary, *** and project managerAlso, sent an email and tried to meet with ***, still no response!
I have been extremely patient This scratch is not my responsibilityIt was the result and responsibility of Prolific Cabinetry's installer, ***I expect this issue to be addressed and repaired

We found Prolific at the home showJack, the owner came to our house and brainstormed some great ideasHe made us feel like he had everything under controlWe planned to take out a pantry, move a water heater, & remove 1/a wallThis included new drywall, new ceiling and tile floor repairsThe initial schedule given was ~weeks
We quickly started losing days and couldn’t get a clear understanding of the plans from the PM, Ace or JackThey would alternate between calling, emailing & texting us; would blame us for responding poorly & for messages being crossedTwice they said my husband was lying to me!
When the cabinets were installed, I found a few nicks, patched holes from a poor build, missed screws, etc
The last day of cabinet install, the installer was cleaning up my kitchen when I got home from work (I was mos pregnant) & he started to pack up for the nightI asked him about the significant amount of sawdust that was on the other side of the kitchen peninsula and he said that because it wasn’t in the kitchen he couldn’t do itI eventually got my own shop vac & cleaned it up myselfWhile he watchedThe pregnant lady Clean up his messI was beyond furiousJack & Ace responded to my complaints about this situation & said all the right things
They brought in our large L-shaped counter as one pieceBut it was too big-there were nicks and dents and gouges in my front door, door frame, walls, and ceiling all the way from my front door to my kitchenAgain they didn’t tell me about the damage until I called them about itAnd first they said the damage was already there!
Eventually they agreed to fix it at no charge to meI later found out that the PM was part of the team who brought in the cabinetThe PM who was there for quality assuranceThe PM who denied they caused damage
When we inspected the counter, it had more than one screw going straight up through the bottom of it! It took days before they came to inspect itThey offered $to let them patchThey promised me that I wouldn’t be able to tellWrongThe patches looked worse; easily visible & different textureThey eventually agreed to re-laminate them, and reinstall (With no $ credit) it in piecesdays after demo, we were able get a sink & running water
The painters did a TERRIBLE jobThe walls were not prepped appropriately, there were lots of uneven spotsThey got paint on the counters, cabinets and tile backsplashThey missed spotsThere were dripsAgain we escalatedAgain we had to work hard to get anyone to believe that we had a problem
Eventually they agreed to come in on a SaturdayDuring, they complained that it was their day off and that some of the problem was due to the drywall installerI still had to review their rework closely and had to make them redo and fix spots over and overThe PM Ace eventually came by and helped to oversee but it still required way too much oversight on my part
All in all, it took weeks for our week projectweeks living in construction while pregnant and with a 3-year old and a dog
I’m writing this review approximately months after the work was completed because it was such a terrible experienceMy kitchen is beautifulBut the story behind how we got there just makes all the flaws prominent in my mind

The day I decided to remodel my kitchen was both a day of happiness as well as a day of not knowing what to expectI met with the owner Jack and immediately I felt at easeJack listened to what I wanted my kitchen to look like as well as adding things I never even thought of, I received a quote within a day and the next day I went to the showroom There I picked out the cabinets, hardware, and back splashWe then went to the granite showroom where I was able to see large slabs of graniteJack and I went over every piece that was going into my kitchenHis team was prompt and knew what needed to be doneI never felt like I didn't know what to expectI highly recommend this company if you want a professional team to do your remodel

Prolific coordinated the remodeling of our kitchen, three bathrooms, and laundry room Going in to the project we all knew that it was going to be complex as it involved plumbing, electrical, and counter tops as well as cabinets Prolific carefully set up a plan, navigated the difficulties as they arose and continued to succeed at overcoming significant obstacles as the project progressed They were also very flexible when we came up with new ideas that increased the scope of the project When one takes on a home remodel it is essential to have realistic expectations: there will be problems; there will be dust; there will be unknowns to overcome; there will be problems with holding the schedule, and there were in our case Throughout however, the team of Jack, Connie, and Cary sincerely stuck with it and brought the project to a very successful completion I believe Prolific did as well as anyone could have done on this project The finished product was magnificent, far above what we had envisioned when the project was formulated
