Review: After moving out in September of 2015 the security deposit became a source of conflict. Initially the walk out inspection had discrepancies which had to be disputed. Nextly when the security deposit refund check arrived it was both lower than it was supposed to be and it was not signed. Our bank could not cash said check. We returned the bogus check and have not received a new check and have had a hard time contacting [redacted] about this. For this reason we will likely take them to small claims court.Desired Settlement: Refund entire security deposit.

They ripped us off. Not only did they take our entire deposit but they also changed us $300 to replace the carpet. It did not need to be replaced. I was told there may be a class action lawsuit.

I rented from Horizon Ridge Park Villas in 2012. I relocated due to work and provided my forwarding address and phone number. After close-out, they sent the invoice to a false address rather than the one I provided, and then sent me to collections without calling me first. 2 years later I attempted to apply for a new lease with another company and it was declined due to the derogatory remark on my credit report. I contacted the company to investigate and make the payment, and when I began to tell them I noticed the address was wrong on their invoice which is why I never received it, they became hostile as if I were trying to get out of paying the bill. I asked for a supervisor several times and was told they do not speak to customers. I called back again to get a different representative and was placed on hold for 20 minutes before being helped, which only involved redirecting me to an e-mail address which they could provide no estimate for response time - they basically said they'll get to it when they get to it and it will be at least one week. I told them how terribly urgent my situation is and they refused to connect me with anyone in customer service or management. Their company culture is horrific - every staff member I spoke to requesting reasonable assistance was extremely rude to me and also accusatory (it's only $107.22 that I owe - AND I paid it off but needed additional assistance). My primary concern was that they put me into collections for an invoice that they did not send to me, and that it was barring me from obtaining housing. At no point did I decline to pay yet they will not help me expedite clearing my record so that I can be approved for a new lease. They are unethical and have no integrity, which is in direct conflict with their mission statement. DO NOT rent from these people. Despite following every possible channel of resolution with them, they still have yet to assist me.
