Review: My daughter and her friends booked an after prom event with promtix.com on the Atlantis yacht. The website and the owner of the company promised several amenities on this yacht, and none of these amenities were given. Karaoke, chicken fingers, and a full dessert bar were just a few of the things that were supposed to be on this yacht, which we were told was going to be packed with hundreds of teenagers having a great time. Instead, there was no karaoke, a few french fries thrown on a tray, no dessert bar, and only around 30 teenagers on this yacht. The tickets were $60 per person plus an additional $20 for VIP access, which was supposed to guarantee exclusive access to the top deck of ship, where there would be a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline. Everyone's tickets were collected before boarding the ship, leaving no distinction between non-VIPs and VIPs. In addition to these various disappointments, the crew that was running the yacht was extremely unprofessional. There was one crew member passed out on the floor. The "security" used profane language while frisking the young men outside the ship. When I spoke to the owner of the company on the phone before allowing my daughter to buy the tickets, he assured me that my daughter and her friends would be extremely safe. He told me there would be a good security team in place, along with one unarmed, off-duty police officer. My daughter and her friends felt extremely unsafe while on the yacht, and they do not believe that the security team was professional nor sufficient.Desired Settlement: We want to be reimbursed for the $80 ticket, which included the VIP access that was non-existent.

Review: I purchased two VIP prom night tickets $80.00, (as well did the rest of my son's party) for the Atlantis on the Water Prom Cruise for my son and his friend. The boys in the party were frisked, somewhat inappropriately, and cursed at by the unprofessional staff. The only food on the boat was two trays of cold french fries, which one crewman described as tasting like "rat poison." The top deck and all the tables and chairs were covered in dirty water. Since all the tickets were collected at the door, the crew had no way of designating who purchased VIP and who didn't, therefore, everybody was allowed on the top deck, whether they paid VIP or not. The Internet advertisement said that the event will be filmed, but there were no cameramen onboard. The advertisement also said that there would be a jacuzzi, and there was no jacuzzi in any of the areas we were (parts of the boat were closed off). There might have been six crew members on the boat, and the top deck was left unsupervised for almost the entire boat ride. The crew was not helpful at all. For example, a girl, from another group who was also on the boat, passed out in the bathroom and the crew made no effort to help. One crewman fell asleep next to the dance floor. The boat was supposed to give them a view of the Manhattan Skyline, but the boat didn't go past Brooklyn or beyond the Verrazano Bridge before it turned around and sailed back to the dock. They had almost no view of the skyline. The boat was supposed to dock at 4AM, instead, it returned at 3:15AM. My son and his friends felt the crew was extremely sketchy, unprofessional, and careless. The online advertisement was deceptive and untruthful.Desired Settlement: I feel that I was a victim of false advertising and I desire a full refund of the $160 for the two VIP tickets I purchased.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I am sure that you provide your prom goers with the best possible experience, however, this particular event was not held in that manner. The staff on the Atlantis was extremely unprofessional. One of the staff members was passed out. The prom goers did not have VIP access on the boat for which they paid an additional $20.00 to the $60.00 for this event. The vulgarity used towards these prom goers was uncalled for. My son was padded down in an inappropriate fashion to see what was in his pockets! This may have been an isolated incident, but it still did occur. I am extremely upset that these prom goers did not have the experience that you guarantee and strive to provide. Therefore, I am still seeking reimbursement.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: On March **, 2015, Promfamtasy charged my credit card in the amount of $783.90 with the promise of a night to remember for their after prom on June **, 2015. Well, it certainly was a night to remember. Confirmation had been sent to us via certified mail. The night after prom, the limo took a group of kids to the pier to oard the boat, however, there was no boat. There were other groups there as well from other schools. Several attempts to contact manager were initially unsuccesful, however, once contact was made we were informed that the pier the boat was leaving from had been changed from brooklyn to manhattan. It was promised that the boat would wait for the kids. As they pulled up to the pier, the boat plled away, the kids were devastated. Refunds were promised multiple times and never received so not only did these people ruing prom night for these kids, but failed to return the monies to the parents that I had collected from, who are really angry at this point. Today I received a check via certified mail for $350. which is not going to cover anything owed to the other parents.Desired Settlement: A full refund with an additional gratis dinner cruise for each kid along with their parent as this was initially offered and declined by me in good faith. Now that everyone is truly disgusted with this group of [redacted], who sent everything to us via registered mail except for the pier change which they claim to have texted to us, (they did not).

Review: This is a shady operation. The ships name is atlantis on the water/the most amazing ship ever and that was far from the truth. There was no VIP area, the kids had to set up their own chairs, which were wet, their was no theatre or karaoke as promised, the appetizer food was disgusting and the refreshements were as well, there was no retired cop for supervision as stated per conversation, the employees were not proffessional at all, if anything, there were frightening, and most of all they did not provide a safe and secure environment as promised. The kids were never told what to do in an emergency (when you step on any boat that's usually manditory)...without supervision in this unsecure environment, I'm afraid one day, a post prom celebrator will not come home.Desired Settlement: I did ask the bank for dispute the payment, but I really don't care about the money. It's the principle of the matter. The owner was full of bologna and the kids were trapped on this hell boat for 3 1/2 hours, sea sick and sitting on the floor and scared to death. I just do not want any other children ruining one of the greatest nights in a teenagers life and quite possibly die because of lack of proper supervision.

I left a message inquiring as to whether all that they offered was true because it sounded to good to be true.
