Manager sold my husband and myself a 10000 btu window unit claiming the unit was brand new. Stated that no other customers wanted to pay the fee of $194.84. The unit had a lose plastic piece in it took unit back manager offered to remove it and unit worked for 1 day. Called the next day and said that there was nothing he could do. We are disabled no transportation and limited income. We want owner's to see how the management deceived us for his own commission. How is this fair to the public? Not everyone can afford a new window unit in South Texas.
—We do not and never have sold “brand new” A/C window units and never represent the used units that we sell as being new.—after purchasing the unit the customer returned it to the store, but the unit had been damaged after it was sold. The store manager did remove a “loose plastic piece” at that time which was a result the of post-sale damage to the unit.—the customer made a complaint at our store located at *** a short time later, which was forwarded to ownership (the actual sale took place at our store located at ***).My partner, *** contacted the customer and advised that he would meet them at the store and look at the unit and try to work something out with them to their satisfaction. He was informed at that time that the customer was no longer in possession of the unit. He advised that if the customer did want to bring the unit back in the future he would be glad to meet with them and discuss the issue further.
