Property Renovations Reviews (1)

Review: I purchased a house in 2014, which was a foreclosed flip. I have had unresolved problems with the seller since the home inspection process began last February and continued after the purchase was final. These include:-He did not perform the work needed that was uncovered during the home inspection (despite telling my agent he would).-He lied on the termite disclosure, per an outside termite inspector that I hired, and covered up termite damage in my basement. -I had to have the dishwasher re-installed because it was not installed properly. -I had to have the kitchen and first floor bathroom sinks re-installed because they were not vented properly and did not drain. -I had to have a new window crank installed myself because the seller told me he wouldn't send anyone to my house to install it until we resolved the termite issue (which was never resolved). I had money held in escrow for this, which was never returned to me. -When he put down new hardwood floors, he covered the three air returns. I had to have holes cut in the floors and new return grills added. -He took two window screens from the house and wouldn't return them. I now have to have screens made. -Many electrical fixtures had to be re-installed because they weren't secured properly to the ceilings or studs above.-I lost power to my entire second floor and dining room for two weeks because there was a short. My electrician has gone through most of the house and discovered buried junction boxes and other problems. Some issues have been remediated but more work needs to be done. The estimate for all of this work is approximately $8000. In the meantime I have holes in my ceiling and in a wall, which will need to be replaced with removable panels. I investigated this company. Neither he nor his company holds any licenses (specifically a home improvement, major contractor, or new home contractor license). I also checked with the town of [redacted]. No permits were pulled and thus no inspections/CO happened for any work done.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the electrical work (final amount to be determined). I would like this company to be fined for performing work without a license.
