Prospect Home Finance Reviews (%countItem)

If I could give 0 stars I would. We started the refinance process with lots of good rate and cost promises. Jeanne Welton was our contact. She started out okay then was not returning calls promptly. Then I was told all looks great and the day before the lock date expires I get an email with another list of items needed. I sent many emails, calls and voicemails which were not promptly answered. Then I am told they can extend the lock date but it will cost me additional dollars and quite a bit more. Emailed the owner Jason Vondrak and all he sent was a canned email blaming Covid not admitting that his finance person nor office caused the delay. Their canned response is we understand your frustration. First of all they do t understand nor care to do anything to fix their incompetence. Just move on to the next person so they can get commission.

So because of Prospect I lost my lock not due to anything on my end and all due to their lack of communication and because of their poor communication and follow up I would have to pay extra. At that point the process ended. What’s worse is that they charged me $150 for a solar subordination and emailed I would get $75 returned. I requested my $75 and they said only if loan closed.

This company is very poor and deceptive and their owner Jason Vondrak does not appear to care either

A complete clown show. Stay away..stay far away!! Some lowlights from my cash out refi that Prospect ultimately blew up:

21 days or less closing...how about 3 months of Prospect caused delays and negligence when papers were finally signed but then they didn't count and deal blew up

Mistake after mistake causing delays. They apparently have never heard of a checklist to make sure everything that needs to be done gets done. Some examples: other parties wife had to sign papers but weren't informed until day before 1st scheduled closing. Problem was wife was now in Mexico.Delay! Appraisal was never looked at by either Prospect or the lender until day OF closing then a termite inspection was demanded. In the 3 months this deal dragged on we were never told one was required. Delay! Now lender demands repairs be done prior to funding. Delay! This should have been disclosed way earlier than the 2nd closing date but never was. Delay! We were assured by a supervisor at Prospect that if repairs were done deal would be funded immediately. Outright lie. Deal was never funded and we spent $18,000 doing repairs that weren't urgently needed. There's plenty more but I'll let the lawyers sort it out. For your own good choose another company and get the deal you want actually closed. Good luck. 0 stars

Hello, we’re sorry you had a negative experience with us. While we understand your frustrations, your home was newly inherited and in need of repairs (termite treatment) to make the collateral suitable, and before the loan funding was complete you took a voluntary furlough from work. On April 6th, you signed an attestation form stating that there was no change to your employment/income. On 4/7, United Wholesale mortgage (UWM) called to verify your employment prior to funding, and discovered your unemployment. Without the income, you were no longer approved for the loan. Once you are back to work full-time, we are more than happy to proceed. Thank you.

I worked with Coby C. at Prospect Financial to refinance my house and he was super. He kept me in the loop - so I always knew what was happening. He responded quickly to my questions and worked with me to get everything that was needed - including a CalFirst issue. I would definitely recommend Prospect for any home loan to my friends and neighbors. Thanks Coby

Thanks so much for the positive feedback! We are so happy your home finance process went smoothly. Thank you for the recommendation, have a great day!

I was a victim when somebody named Noah provided my phone number for a mortgage quote. I immediately was swamped with dozens of calls. One came from Prospect Financial. I phoned each company and they all apologized. Some advised me how it happened and how to get my name off the lists. I followed their instructions. I never heard from any of those companies again. Except for Prospect Financial Group. I have received 3 more texts. Each time I called and asked them to please take me off the list. I was even told my name had a "do not call". But evidently Prospect doesn't think a "do not call" request pertains to text messages. It does. Although I call and ask for Jason Vondrak, the person who signed the texts, I have not been permitted to speak to him. I see no other way to stop these texts than to contact you. I asked the representative to send me proof that they took me off the text list. I told the person that if Jason didn't call me and reassure me that I would file a complaint. Thus I am filing a complaint. It seems like such a reasonable request to stop getting something I never wanted to get and I can't be a customer, not needing a loan. Thank you for your help in getting this resolved.

Thank you for taking the time to
leave us your feedback, Ms.. After carefully looking into this
situation, we want to first apologize for the
inconvenience this has caused you, as we understand how it would be frustrating
to have someone enter your phone number into an inquiry and then receive
multiple texts and emails from companies. With that being said, on
December 30, 2019, we received a *** request to remove your phone
number from our call list, so we removed you from receiving calls on our end
that same day. We did not, however, remove you from receiving texts, so we
apologize for reaching out via text. We have since then removed you from
receiving any form of marketing from our company. It should not be an issue
going forward on our end, and again, we appreciate your feedback as it does
help us better our practices.

Untrustworthy I had bad feeling from the start. lies and more lies they don't even apologize when you confront them or catch them in the tact.just a horrible experience .I'm worried I gave them my information heads up don't sign actually question everything you sign and triple check it. Ask you to sign and forward you a totally different document to sign scam scam be careful

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, Mr. Astefan. Here at Prospect Financial Group, we consider any complaint a very serious matter, and we want to do everything we can to resolve the issues stated.

After closely looking into this situation and speaking with relevant parties, we would like to formally respond as follows: Upon discussing the closing costs and the possibility of getting an appraisal waiver, documents were submitted to our processing department. We were then informed from the processing department that the DTI was higher than expected, so we took relevant measures to attempt to bring the DTI down to 48%, all while explaining the process and making sure consent was made.

We recognize the confusion that the home finance process often brings, so it is always our main goal to make sure the client is aware of what is happening if issues come about regarding DTI. We are constantly working to improve our communication. With that being said, we would like the opportunity to speak with you further about this matter, so we can try to make things right and explain any unanswered questions you might have. Please let us know a good number to reach you, and our Managing Partner will get in touch right away. Thank you again, Mr. Astefan.

Prospect Financial Group is an organization with an A+ Revdex.com rating. First of all, that rating needs to be diminished sharply to a D- or Fail rating. I think they should up business after the questionable business practices I went through. THEY SOUGHT ME to refinance my mortgage and when I confess to Loan Officer *** that I was heavily in debt (I was very transparent throughout the process), he kept reassuring me that things would be all right and we would not have a problem. Now after spending about $560.00 to have my home appraised and an additional $150.00 to fax documents to Mr., they cannot complete the mortgage. That I could understand but it was Mr. assurance that it was all going to work out getting my hopes up high that makes this abominable. I want the $700 back. By the way, I had to fax Homeowners' Association documents and tax returns documents TWICE because somewhere, Mr. misplaced the first ones I sent. One last thing here. Mr. was ready to set me up with a FHA loan and then told me that the HOA would not allow it. Funny, three other residents in my townhouse community have FHA loans. Is this deception on Mr. part. Also, I want Revdex.com to consider this. I am a senior citizen and I am retired. Is the treatment from Mr. and Prospect Financial Group elder abuse?

Dear Richard,

We want to first thank you for the information you have provided and for taking the time to express your feedback.

We received your online home finance inquiry this year, and while we work hard to try to qualify every client to reach their personal home finance goals, we can unfortunately never guarantee a loan will close. We definitely understand your frustrations with starting the process and not qualifying, because we know this is a huge time commitment on your part.

With that being said, we will happily reimburse the appraisal cost, and we would like the opportunity for Managing Partner Coby Camerer to speak to you directly so we can learn from this experience and to discuss reimbursing the fax costs. If you prefer to communicate on this platform instead, that is completely fine, and we will continue to do all we can to make this situation right.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you, and we appreciate any criticism that we can use to better our every day practices. Thanks again, Richard.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

MY WORDS HERE: I hope to receive the reimbursement of $700.00. I do now wish to speak to anyone at Prospect Financial. I hope this will close everything up and that Prospect Financial will no longer be so cruel to prospective clients in giving them hope and all but guaranteeing a mortgage closed (as with what happened with me) and then rescind the deal. This was cruel.

Regards,

Richard

I was offered and approved for a loan. After agreement was signed was then told needed to pay a fee of $195 to process. I was told once fee was paid I was guaranteed 100% loan would be sent to me. I paid the fee and within 5 minutes got email saying another fee of $535 was required. These fees were not told upfront and never discussed. I requested my $195 be refunded as I refused to pay the $535 as this felt like a scam and was told it would be processed. I checked on my refund and was told I needed to pay them $80 to get my money back so now I know this is a scam .

Hi Leslye, I want to reach out to let you know that your name is not in our company's database and we have not done business with you regarding the loan you mentioned in the complaint. Someone has been using our company name (Prospect Financial Group) and our company’s President’s name to try to scam people. We have gotten various emails shutdown that the scammer has used and we have been in contact with the FBI, but this person keeps using our name and President’s name to try and scam people. I am sorry this has happened to you.

Customer Response • Feb 27, 2019

I am still being contactaed by these people. I have had to close my bank accounts and font know what to do to stop them from contacting me and using my information.

Prospect Home Finance Response • Mar 01, 2019

Hi Leslye,

Thank you for your response, and we definitely understand your frustrations. However, this is out of our control, as this is not our company contacting you. We are a mortgage broker located in CA and do not work with consumers in WI nor take any upfront fees to process applications.

Unfortunately, there has been an individual that has been using both our company name and employees’ names in the act of a scam. We have done everything in our power to report this person, including filing complaints with the FBI and FTC in the past. We would be more than happy to help report the email that they are using to contact you if you would like to share it with us. To date, that has been the only successful method we have had in getting the email accounts they are using shut down.

We apologize again that you have had to go through this and are sorry we cannot offer a further resolution for you.

Thank you.

I was working with *** from Prospect Financial group in San Diego.
She charged me $850 for an appraisal, thinking I was another client. I didnt qualify as I had just started my job 2 weeks prior and told her on the phone.
There were so many mistakes made with my application...numbers were transposed, dates were wrong, appraisal ordered prematurely...which I never got a copy of even tho I requested it 3 times.
Example of the mistakes made...6/12 told her on phone I just started my job, sent in my first paystub on 6/18. On 6/26 I was charged for the appraisal. On same day *** stated she is surprised appraisal not done yet. Appraiser came out on 7/9. On 7/11 *** stated in email that she had not ordered the appraisal yet because I needed to show enough income first. During the whole process she congratulated me on my approval, on 7/21 she retracted by saying it was a conditional approval, by then I had been charged for the appraisal. In her last email to me, her dates were all wrong.
I felt like a lost cow in a big herd. I never got a hard copy of my appraisal even tho I've asked for it 3 times.
I want my $850 back.

they contacted me about getting a loan sent me paperwork anapplication filled everything out was accepted signed for the loan now all they kep asking for is fee after fee with a promise to deposit money no money ever deposited I am over paying and not getting what I am suppose to get I wouldlike what they promised me

Hello, someone by the name of *** does not and has never worked for our company, Prospect Financial Group. This is a person who is trying to scam you and others by using our company name, and we are actively looking into this situation to put a stop to it.

Beware of providing this company your email and contact information. Complete oversight in their own process of removing people from their contact list. After repeated failed attempts following their own instructions within their emails to UNsubscribe, it took an actual phone call to the company to resolve issue. Very disappointed.

Prospect Home Finance Response • Jan 17, 2018

Hello,

First, we want to apologize for the inconvenience of this situation and understand that it would be frustrating. After looking into this situation further, it seems that these requests were made directly to a loan officer via transactional email messages. In an effort to continue to improve our business practices and to avoid situations like this in the future, we are providing additional training and implementing stricter policies for employees regarding email best practices and the CAN-SPAM act. Though our marketing emails are CAN-SPAM compliant through a third-party system, we will continue to work with employees to ensure this is also reflected on an individual user level at all times. We strive to make sure each request is fulfilled in a timely manner, and we apologize this was not the case for you.
