Review: I contacted the owner [redacted] in April TWICE about my move from my apartment on 5/31/14. He stated during our phone conversation that his moving company could move me at 8:30am on 5/31/14. I asked him on the phone about the moving fee and he stated that it cost a flat rate of $100.00 an hour to move. The day of my move the moving company had not shown up by 9:00am therefore I called the owner and his cell phone went directly into voicemail. I left him a message to call me back, as I needed to know why they hadn't arrived. The owner showed up at 10:00am, an hour 1/2 late for my move and he didn't even call to let me know why they were late. He didn't apology for being late, he stated they had something to do that morning. They open the truck, and I noticed that the truck was already half full of junk when they arrived. What moving company comes to move a client's furniture and boxes with junk already on the truck? [redacted] did not have any wrapping materials for my items. He asked me for tape to tape down the doors of my entertainment center so that he could move it. His movers were his teen age grandson and another guy. They threw my comforters and pillows from the 3rd floor breezeway of my apartment to the ground instead of putting them on a hand truck and walking them down. When I asked not to throw my things, they became angry. My furniture and items where being moved to [redacted] on [redacted] and his movers had to make two trips to the storage facility because they could bring all my items at once, because they already had junk on their truck. They threw my items in my storage unit. I am sure many of my items are broken, but I will not know for sure until I move my furniture and items out of my storage unit. At the end of their unprofessional service, it was 1:00pm. The owner [redacted] stated that I owned him $450.00 the $300.00 for the 3 hour move and an additional $150.00 for his travel time. He never mentioned a travel time fee when we spoke prior back in April. He only stated that I pay a flat rate fee in CASH or check. He did not provide a contract for the service, he did not make an assessment of furniture or boxes before the move. He did not give me a receipt for my check that I gave him for $450.00. I am totally unsatified with Prosperity Movers service and I would like a refund of that travel fee. I asked him for a discount for being 1hr 1/2 late and he denied it, stating they got me moved.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology letter for the unprofessional service and a refund check of $150.00 (traveling fee) from the owner [redacted] as he did not mention a traveling fee when we spoke on the phone. He stated that it would cost $100.00 per hour for the move a flat fee. I asked about payment options and [redacted] stated that I could pay with CASH or check.
