Review: Protech installed my driveway and the contract indicated that they would excavate to 10 inches and then lay down gravel, followed by the base and then top coat. The excavation was barely 4 inches (I have pictures). Also, the grading allows water to enter the garage when it rains. They did not slope the driveway away from the garage. I had many, many bids and I chose Protect because they said they would do it right. I trusted them. I could have had my driveway done for THOUSANDS less it I had wanted it excavated one 4 inches.Desired Settlement: I would like the slope of the driveway corrected and an adjustment, in terms of a rebate, to my bill.

ID#[redacted]Protech Asphalt Maintenance Inc. sent the customer estimate #[redacted] (copy enclosed) on 3-27-15. Note there is no depth specified for excavation. The installation of gravel is an estimate of 6" since we normally excavate until we find stable sub base/sub grade. Home owner was on location while we completed the project, and voiced no concerns at the time.On 6-30-15, Mr. [redacted] sent an email (copy enclosed) stating he was “pleased with the paving” but questioned the specifications. I believe Lorre (the estimator for this project) contacted Mr. [redacted] either via phone or email to address his concerns.The concerns about proper grading away from the garage can be seen in the photo Mr. [redacted] provided, which clearly shows the excavation sloping away from the garage entrance. The asphalt was installed level with the garage entrance for a smooth transition with a 1% slope away from the garage for water flow. The slope of 1% was confirmed on 10-19-15 when [redacted] personally visited the site and checked with a level. Perhaps the direction and/or intensity of the rain is the cause of the water in the garage?Protech Asphalt Maintenance Inc. tries to resolve any complaints as quickly as possible. The customer seemed happy with the work upon completion and expressed his satisfaction verbally to the office after the crew left the job site and later via e-mail. Unsure exactly what customer wants.
