NIGHTMARE IN PROGRESS - GO ELSEWHERE!
I am currently in the process of moving from Wisconsin to CaliforniaIn addition to having the stress of moving across country and starting a new job, I am also experiencing TERRIBLE service from Protected Van Lines and have spent HOURS trying to get ahold of the company, with little responseIt has gotten to the point where I've involved my credit card company to consider starting an investigation for a partial refund
So, where do I start? After receiving my deposit (of nearly $800), Protected Van Lines has essentially ignored me and not followed up on ANYTHING without me having to call repeatedly and leave messagesWhen the movers (from a subcontracted company) showed up, they had the WRONG inventory from PVL and we had to go back and forth until they received the new inventory and payment info from PVLNOW, I am receiving emails from All Around Van Lines saying that they will be delivering my stuff and they're charging me HUNDREDS of dollars more and have seemingly no communication with Protected Van Lines - they don't even have the right inventory list that I made with PVL at pickup!! This experience has truly ruined my last few days in my previous city and has created huge stress as I've made the transition to my new city
Since Protected Van Lines has not returned my call, I am left having to email back and forth with All Around Van Lines about the miscommunication and have yet to reach resolutionI worry that I'll have to spend the first few weeks of my new job dealing with this situation
And, NOTE: I am in education and do NOT have a company that is covering the cost of my moveThis scamming and complete unsatisfactory service has a real impact on my life

Just to start off: DO NOT USE this companyToo bad I can't give zero starsThis company is a fraud and scamWe made the mistake to use this company for a move in JuneOur belongings still didn't arrive until weeks later, as opposed to the 7-days that we were promisedWhen you call PVL after you paid them, they will not even pick up the phone anymore, unless you suppress my numberOn weekends, it is almost impossible to get a hold of them (they advertise their "24-hour hotline" on their website)
In fact, we got a taste of what would be ahead of us already when piwas supposed to happen:
PVL told their subcontractor the wrong date, they were supposed to come on a Saturday, not on a FridayThe company they hired called us on Friday and said they would be there in minsWe were out of town that dayThey returned the next day, but only after screaming at my wife on the phone and demanding an additional $for moving the piday
The company PVL selected has a Revdex.com rating of F, and a Google Reviews rating of stars, by the wayThat is already quite tellingApparently PVL believes this is the right company for their customers
The worst thing however is that people at PVL will lie to youI called multiple times, and they would tell me that they would get the shipment "re-routed" for an earlier deliveryThey told me this on four separate incidents when I calledI called the subcontracted company myself, and they did not speak with PVL a single timeThey also told me that our belongings were still in their warehouse and had not been moved anywhere yetSo much for "re-routing" itIn fact, once I got another PVL employee on the phone, and she also told me that there was no way for them to get something re-routed or expedited
So, this means they literally lie to your face and will tell you whatever they can to make you stop callingAnd then they will not answer your calls anymore
Of note, once our belongings finally arrived, several items were missing or damaged amounting to a loss of USDThe subcontractor offered as an insulting USDPVL has at no point be of any assistance or help in resolving this problem
So, what did we pay PVL over USD for? Essentially, to make a phone call to an underperforming and unethically operating moving companyThat is itNothing else that PVL has done to help us during this move
With regard to the other reviews here, it should be obvious to any reasonable person that those reviews are bought or written by the company itselfI don't need to go into details, just read them yourself and ask yourself if anyone would write such a reviewPVL is not good at anything, not even at fake reviewsThis company is made up of liars and despicable peopleI have no idea how they can still look at themselves in the mirror without feeling disgusted
Please save yourself a lot of money, anger and frustration and DO NOT use this companyAgain, DO NOT USE PROTECTED VAN LINES

A company picked up my items on July 23rdDid NOT wrap or take any care of my items, marked every single thing 'soiled', hooked my king size mattress on the door hinge and yanked it offJust couldn't bring myself to look at how much damage was doneI talked to dispatch and asked why my mattresses were not boxed and he said they put them in plastic containers in the truckSo if that's where they go, are those containers sanitized? No bed bugs please
Protected van lines was asked repeatedly who the carrier is/was No answerI only found out when a small truck
showed up with the name on the sideThen they told me they don't deliverSo my items were moved, carelessly I assume, again to storageNow it's August 24th and I 've been told delivery on the 12th, 13th, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th
I get ABSOLUTELY ZERO RESPONSE FROM PAUL AT PROTECTED VAN LINES

Surprisingly very good experience !!!!!!
Customer service department is AWESOME!
Looks like company is new but they are very professional and work very hard
They were helpful to us, along the whole moveI never even had to leave a voicemail once because they were always in contact, and if were busy would pick up and tell me they'd call backGreat genuine peoplestar service for an affordable price
THANK YOU GUYS!!

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!

I was just shopping for quotes when these people called me. [redacted] the "salesman" was very pushy and seemed put out that I wouldn't commit immediately to a contract. It wasn't until AFTER I put down a roughly $1500 deposit that I was told that the remaining balance had to be paid in cash to the movers at either end of the move. I cancelled the service and within 15 minutes, a man claiming to be the owner called me to find out why I wanted to cancel. I told him I had planned to put this move on a credit card and felt blindsided by their demand for cash after the fact. He said they'd take credit and to send an email saying that I retract the cancellation on that condition.
That was the last time I ever heard from them.
It turned out I needed to change the date of the move and when I tried to contact them to inform them, every line went to voicemail. I tried [redacted]'s cell, "I'm available anytime and we'll be in contact through the whole process" , his office line, the so-called owner's cell, the number for the lady who called to tell me she 'accidentally' charged my card twice (that one re-routed to a 201 number with a full voicemail box) and the 24/7 customer service line on their website. I tried these numbers repeatedly for three days and every time on every line I got voicemail, usually full.

Obviously, they were dodging my calls. The only conceivable reason I can come up with that they would dodge my calls about a scheduling change for three days is that this is a SCAM and they already had what they wanted, my $1500 deposit.

I sent them an email demanding a full refund which I fully expect them to ignore and reported the whole incident to my credit card company who will be conducting an investigation.

I'll chalk this up to a learning experience and advise anyone reading this to just hang up on pushy salesmen and consult Revdex.com before putting a deposit on a service.

DO NOT USE> This is a BROKER and NOT a Moving company. When the local movers that Protected Van Lines contracted with arrived at my door, I was told that Protected Van Lines had not estimated correctly and in order to load anything the movers would need me to agree to pay another $1200! The contract price is supposed to be based on weight we were told when we were given the contract estimate. The truck would be weighed and we would be charged an actual price per pound. We were also told when given the estimate that they were estimating on worse case scenarioin other words higher than they expected the price to be. I refused to pay the higher price at the door and asked Protected Van Lines for a refund which they refused as they said they had paid money already. However, the moving company they contracted with said they had not be paid and would not be paid until and if they loaded my belongings. They said we would have to re-negotiate a new contract with them using whoever they find in the next few days and the price again could be higher at the door. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Hire a real moving company who comes out to give you a bid after seeing what you have and save yourself the Broker Fees!
