Before any procedure is performed in our office, we obtain the patient's permission without failWe received payment from the patient's insurance and PER THE INSURANCE they stated the patient owed the amount billed as a copayWe sent statements to the patient without responseWhen we did not
receive response or payment, the account was forwarded to collections. A simple cleaning (prophy) would not have been appropriate given the heavy calculus buildup and gum disease present in the patient's mouth. We have radiographs, photographs and patient notes to support the patient's diagnosis. We review radiographs and photos with every patient who comes through our doors so they understand their diagnosis We have done this consistently for the last years. We would NEVER not inform a patient of this before starting periodontal therapy as we understand there is a significant cost difference. No fraud has been committed and if patient could not pay, he could have easily contacted us at anytime prior to the four statements being sent and we would have tried our best to arrange a payment plan with him All treatment rendered by us has been disclosed to the patient and been appropriate. If the patient disagrees, I welcome him to contact my Office Manager Ashley at 317-872-4746 to discuss instead of filing a Revdex.com report as a first point of contact with my office. He would have achieved a much more satisfactory outcome this way
