ProTurf Landscapes installed a drainage system that terminates in a drywell. Drywell improperly installed, and ProTurf will not install it correctly.On August 6, 2013 PRoTruf Landscapes installed a french drain system in my front yard, and connected to 5 gutter downspouts, and piped all the drainage to a drywell in the rear corner of my property. In actuality, the dry well was a hole that was dug and filled with gravel. I had been expecting a plastic basin to be buried, surrounded by gravel, as often seen in improvement stores and home improvement and garden shows. I explained this to Mr. [redacted], who came out a couple weeks later and installed a storm basin. He did not advise me when he was completed, so when I went outside to check progress he was gone, and I discovered the basin was sticking up about 8" above the ground. Further investigation revealed that the drainage pipe sloped upwards at an angle to enter the basin. When it rains, there is an unknown amount of pipe that has stagnant water sitting in it, because the basin is not the lowest point in the drainage system. When I contacted Mr. [redacted] about why the basin was installed this way he said "that is as far down as I could get it". I explained to him that I was not satisfied with how the basin had been installed, and he never responded to my concerns. Several months later my back yard was exceptionally soggy, and I again contacted him complaining that I did not believe the system was performing as it should, and stated I felt it was because the basin had not been installed correctly. He responded saying he was very busy but would come out and look at it. I have contacted him on January 31, March 11, April 10, and May 6, and only got replies from him on March 16 and May 6. He has not come out to evaluate the issue, or offered a plan to fix the improper installation.Desired SettlementI would like the drainage basin installed properly, and below grade. I expect it to be the lowest point of my drainage system, since water only flows downhill. I would also like my drainage lines flushed, to ensure there isn't any debris stuck in them since the system has been sitting with the exit point higher than the lowest point for almost one year. I also do not want any of my surrounding landscaping damaged by this repair work. Business Response /[redacted]/Yes we did install a drainage system for this customer. And the original estimate did not include a plastic basin because the customer did not specify it. We installed the system as the customer stated. The customer was also shown areas of concern (sewer pipe) in front yard that would prohibit the front pipe from being as low as it needed. Also, we cannot confirm that the customer kept his gutters cleaned during the winter months, seeing his soggy problem occured after leaf season. The dry is the lowest point in the system. From road to dry well there is approximately 15 ft of elevation change. Yes we are very busy and will be sending someone out to look at the well as soon as possible and make a correction if necessary.
