Provinziano and Associates

I hired Provinziano & Associates on December 2019 to represent me in my family law (pending divorce) case after meeting *** (***) *** Provinziano (State Bar #***).

Since then, I have asked them to halt working on my case. They have responded that they would like me to "self-represent" as a result. They have mentioned that I will concurrently be responsible for "past due fees" however when I insisted that they provide me a bill, they are unable to do so.

Their reasoning is that I need to first sign the Substitution of Attorney form which would relinquish them of client attorney privileges and that once they do a final accounting, there "may" not be any past due balance owed.

Moreover, their Client Concierge Specialist, *** has erroneously stated we had a telephone conversation on Jan 15, 2020 in which she appraised me of the details of other bills not referred to in this complaint. She also mentioned we spoke about the Substitution of Attorney, when we never had those aforementioned conversations. Rather, on Jan. 15, 2020 I spoke to a so-called ***, who picked up their office line, 310-820-3500. I left a message with *** that I would like to speak with ***.

I thought about signing the Substitution of Attorney form. But my hunch told me something is off with this firm. I realized what if after doing so, I may never see the 5 inch+ pile of divorce paperwork that's part of my ongoing case. Moreover, I thought about trying to access several document links they had sent me that I had paid their time for but these links were expired because the connections to those document links in conjunction to my email was terminated by the Administrator (aka, Provinziano & Associates).

Literally within a few minutes of trying to access these links, attorney *** (State Bar #***) at 8:45pm in the evening emailed me an "active" version of this link! How did she come to know (at that time of NIGHT) that I'm trying to access my document in the first place?
