Provisions RSVP Limited

This past Wednesday I was in Roanoke doing Christmas shopping and needed to get an oven thermometer so I immediately thought of Provision RSVP as the place where I knew I could get one being handicapped, walking with a cane, unable yo stand for long periods and thus in need of a cart not a basket to not only hold my purchases but as an assist for walking, I was shocked by the clerks response to me.

When I asked for a cart I was told they only offer baskets, no carts. I also noticed that the store was so over packed with merchandise the isles were too cluttered to maneuver thru them. I pointed out that being handicapped, walking with a cane and having poor endurance it appeared to me I would not be able to maneuver thru their store.

When asked what I was looking for, I told then an oven thermometer. He clerk asked what kind of thermometer and I replied I didn't know because I did not know what the had in stock. She gave me a puzzled lookand gave no verbal response. I looked at her and stated I would go to a store that could accommodate my handicap status as ell as hat I was looking for.

Persons with disabilities like to shop like non disabled persons. I know there are regulations that are in place for Safety and accommodation of the disabled as well as non disabled customers both under the disability act and fire and safety codes.
