My husband was at this facility for rehabilitation after a hospital stay. I was advised by this facility that his first 20 days were covered 100% by Medicare. My husband was moved to another rehab center after 14 days. I have been getting bills for one weeks stay for over 1 year ($1,595.00). I have mailed numerous letters and faxed several pages to show the dates of his stay and the insurance payments for his stay. I have called several times and they never answer their phone and never return messages. I have had NO contact from them even though I have tried to rectify this matter. I have contacted my insurance company and they have submitted a claim. It seems PruittHealth does not read their mail and they do not answer their phones. Aetna has tried to call them and find they can only leave a message. These are the dates involved:
August 20, 2018 - husband to St. Joseph's
August 29, 2018 - husband to PruittHealth/Brookhaven
September 12, 2018 - husband left PruittHealth/Brookhaven - was moved to Manor Care, Marietta
Aetna paid PruittHealth - 7 days (8/29/18 - 9/4/18)
Aetna paid PruittHealth - 8 days (9/5/18 - 9/12/18)
It is now 2020 and in January I tried again to call and faxed information once again on 1/16/20. To this date I have no contact from them.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I want them to STOP sending me bills. I get them every month (end of month cycle) and I have tried to call, I have mailed numerous letters, and sent several faxes and the bill keep coming. In over a year, they have spent over $10 on postage. I DO NOT OWE THIS COMPANY ANYTHING!

The amount that is being billed is a co-payment amount as required by the client's insurance policy. It is recommended that the client reviews their insurance policy and fully understand their liability with their policy.

1. On September 6, 2018, I met with Sandra *** (Financial Advisor for PruittHealth, Brookhaven). She explained the first 20 days of stay was covered 100% by Medicare, but on the 21st day I would be responsble for the difference Medicare would pay.
2. On page 24 of PruittHealth's own booklet ("A Guide for Residents of Georgia"), it states "Medicare will pay 100% of the daily room rate plus all covered ancillary charges for the first 20 days." 100% DOES NOT MEAN THERE IS A COPAY.
3. My husband was moved to Manor Care (Marietta, GA) on 9/12/18 after 14 days at PruittHealth, Brookhaven. He was at Manor Care for 6 days and Medicare covered 100% for those days - the Medicare 20 day period was up on 9/18/18. After that period, I had a copay and was responsible for the charges that Medicare did not pay. I do NOT owe a copay at PruittHealth which is what they claim. It simply does not make sense that Medicare would pay 100% at Manor Care and not at PruittHealth.
4. Not only have I been receiving bills for over a year from PruittHealth, they also were sending bills for the same amount to my son who only visited his father at the facility and is NOT responsible for his bills. On November 5, 2018, PruittHealth sent a letter stating they had moved their billing system to a new system. "The old system was turned off mid-month so no new payments, charges or charge credits could be entered to that system." Maybe when the new system was running, it made a mistake in my husband's account?
5. I have filed a claim with Aetna, my insurance company, for them to research this matter. I do not intend to pay PruittHealth for a copay.

I have documents to back up my claim, but I did not see a way to attach them.
