I had a very unpleasant experience during brunch.I arrived at 1:pm I let the hostess know that I had a 1:reservation and was waiting for the rest of my party to arriveHe then points out that we would be sitting in the very front of the restaurant in front of the windowMy first concern was that there was one table that clearly did not accommodate guestsHe then lets me know that we would have a second table next to but totally separate from the first tableI then walk to the back of the establishment where I saw a very nice set up with more than enough room for I once again approach the hostess and asked that we be seated in the back and she says that that space is reserved, which confused me because I thought I also had reservationsI was not aware that you had to reserve a specific space, was this something that we were supposed to discuss at the time I made the reservation with you?
At 1:pm, the hostess informed us that we can sit As my guests take their seats at two separate tables in the very front of the establishment like zoo animals for all the passer-bys to gawk and stare, we felt very much separated from one another making it very hard to socialize I then ask the hostess if the tables and chairs be rearranged so we can sit together,she informs me that she is not allowed to move tables and chairs, that is the responsibility of the managerAs I walk back to my seat to inform my guests that we have to wait for the manager, my brother asked the busboy if he can help move the tables and chairs, he replies "I'm not allowed." My brother then asks if we can move it and he replies, "Do you." At this point my guests are now rearranging the furniture so we can celebrate my husbands birthday together The hostess was visibly annoyed and mumbles and points at us, complaining about how we are moving the furniture
At 3:pm, the hostess informs my husband that we have to get up from the table He says to her " Technically,you seated us at 1:52, we have minutes." As she is already annoyed with us, she gets security to stand in the middle of our guests and demand that we moveMeanwhile, I had not seen this done to any other patrons It was obvious that we were gathering our things and pouring the last of our mimosas and bellinis While the guard is hovering over us as if we were a group of loiterers, I was asking other waitresses where we can stay and dance/hangout since the manager and hostess were not very helpful
While hanging out by the DJ booth, my husband and his brother walk over to the bar for a drinkThe security guard tells my husband he can not stand where he was standing and instructs him to move My husband then stands behind two empty chairs to wait for his drink When the couple that was sitting at the bar returns, my husbands moves over so that they can sitThe security guard then yells at my husband " Yo, my man I told you, you can't stand there." My husband replies, "I know, I just moved so they can sit down." My husband and the security guard exchange words which resulted in the guard instructing the bartender to cut my husband off At that point my sister-in-laws intervene so that my husbands birthday isn't completely ruined Another manager comes from the back to remedy the situation and hear out the concerns of my in-laws
In the end, the service we received was not worth $ Management lacked hospitality and made me feel unwelcomed
After no one responded to my email I posted this review on Yelp and called the general managerHe tried to explain the unprofessional behavior of his staff and offered me and my husband a "redo"The next day I get an email stating due to my post on Yelp they will no longer extend the courtesy previously offered to meI responded via email :
"I posted that prior to speaking with your GMI was going to add a post about the wonderful conversation I had with him and the courtesy he offered usIf you or someone else had responded to me in a timely fashion that post would have never made it to Yelp
How disgusting of you all to rescind your offerIf you were going to attempt to make this situation right it should not be contingent on my reactionYou all are really involved in some bad business"
