THIS SORORITY IS A SCAM. THE FOUNDER IS A THIEF!

HERE ARE PUBLIC RECORDS THAT SHE HAS BEEN A THIEF FOR A LONG TIME

This sorority is a scam. Let's start with the recruiting process. They don't tell you the price to join until you are on the meet and greet call. Then they say you have 1 week to make payments. If you don't make the payments on time the founder will start to show her true colors. The founder is all about money, if you don't have money to give her then please do not join. She begs for money every week, and claim she is a disabled veteran and does not have a job. Rumor is she may be bi-polar. She has a criminal, civil, common pleas & traffic record. Go to https://publicindex.sccourts.org/Richland/PublicIndex/PISearch.aspx . Type in her name Joy McClendon and you will see.
Second, the sorority have $0 dollars in the bank. If you ask to see the financial report the founder will get upset. The treasurer is scared of the founder, and she does whatever the founder says. Since the sorority was founded, the founder has not paid any taxes on the sorority even though it is allegedly a 401(c). No taxes have been paid. She is aware of this; her treasurer is aware of this as well.
They take from Paul to pay peter. In other words, once you pay the $1000.00 or more to join, she then uses that money to pay for the hotel rooms which everyone is paired up. After you pay your money to join, the founder will create a group me account and you are added to the group me.
Third, the sorority t-shirts are ordered from China. Cheap shirts and jackets.
Fourth, the food that she provides is from her friend who allegedly have a catering business and the food is dry, cold, and salty. But that is her friend, so the founder gets upset whenever someone says anything negative about the food.
Fifth, During the crossing she ask everyone to donate money so she can pay the caterer, photographer, Mary kay rep, and whomever else she invites. Oh, and every crossing her daughter and the rest of her family attends. However, you as the new neo cannot invite your family to the crossing.
Sixth, after the crossing the Neo's are issued 1 black short sleeve shirt, 1 yellow short sleeve shirt, 1 wind breaker jacket with letters on it, and $0.99 cent black and yellow prizes that she bought and used her Cricut machine to attach the sorority letters on.
Seventh, once you are in the sorority, she will start begging for you to cash app her money because it is her birthday, or her daughter's birthday who by the way only eat lobster and shrimp allegedly.
In conclusion, the founder looks for female veterans who have low self-esteem, and the ones she feels she can intimidate. Beware she will turn on you and have everyone in the sorority turn on you. She will tell the sorority sisters not to speak to you, then she will kick you out of the group me chat and, send a letter to you letting you know you are not a part of the sorority. She claims the sorority have a lawyer, however, that is not true. Also, if you go to Richland County and type in her name Joy McClendon you can see she is indeed a scammer.

Refund as promised by founder *** for Psi Zeta Phi Military Sorority Inc. in the amount of $300.00.
The refund as promised, in lack of sending sorority items. They don't even have a complete inventory of what was in the box. This company has lied about when items were sent out, and in in actually nothing ha been shipped out. The owner is scrambling and making excuses of vendors that she has no proof of. She has changed agreement terms several times. The owner *** stated she would refund the money and has not done so. There were two payments of $150 total of $300.00 paid on the Psi Zeta Phi Sorority website. There were several members on the GroupMe chat when she stated she would give refunds to the members who wanted it. I requested a refund and she deleted me from the GroupMe chat. I have witnesses that can vouch for her unethical practices taking monies and not providing what she has promised. I just want my money back.

Desired Outcome

Refund in the amount $300.00.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
She has altered the text messages response leaving out correspondence of the latest agreement of a refund, this shows no integrity. I do not have access to any sorority GroupMe access. She has not included me in any other sorority interaction which have have taken place such as, The emergency free conference call meeting. She has told other members to remove me for all communication. She has failed to provide me any receipts of items and failed to show a itemized list. Please just do right by keeping your word.

A leader set the example.
Here is exact text information from May 28 at 9:47 am.

Refund me for lack of evidence of purchasing items for me. I know you spent that money on your bills and because of covid. Because I can only conclude from lack of evidence from March until June. I have ordered and customized several things for companies and had no problem received my items. You have no tracking information, you stated you have a disabled child in the home. Which I why there is more reason to believe you didn't have the time for my items and furthers my doubt in spending monies for sorority items for me. Please I don't want to pay your bills, you could've just asked if you needed my money for hardships.

Unfortunately, we were recruited from the Georgia Military Veteran Group to join a all black women Military Soroity group paying 300.00 in a month's time. It seemed like an interesting group February of this year. We were not given an laid out details about our 300.00. So they Would send training information via email for about 6 weeks. Had a Group me account. Due to the virus we had to do everything via Group Me Calls. We gave all our personal profiles information, sizes etc. we got a group t shirt with our numbers on it, bag of candy, I got an Easter bunny personalized. Supposedly we suppose to get Jackets in a box along with other stuff. She been lying about our stuff. So we asked for our money back cause she added more stipulation after our supposed cross over, and we wouldn't get our packages if we didn't buy more gifts to send to her. Then we asked for our money back. She said we couldn't get no refund because the vendors had it. She been promising our package over a month. There were so many inconsistencies. Then she put on Group me that we could get our refunds. Today we can't. She will see us in court. Oh she wanted to give me 75.00 for the next 4 months I told her no. That's not how I gave it to her.

Desired Outcome

Refund Put my 300.00 back on my cash app.

I am the Founder of Psi Zeta Phi Military Sorority, Inc. *** is a member of our organization and crossed over. They left the organization and was allowed to come back in and finish the process several times. They are active members as of April 26, 2020 at 7pm. Soror Shreves and *** both were present and went through initation process. They are apart of the National Beta Line for Psi Zeta Phi, Military Sorority, Inc. Due to Convo 19, we process their crossing early but not the formal Initation which takes place over an entire weekend which was postponed due to virus. Our vendors had delays due to shipping packages and is still on track for our original date which is 6/2/2020. The package is due to go out this weekend, There are no refunds after you complete the process. I have attached entire conversation and picture of *** with our Sorority Gear and participating with our hand sign. The only way you acquire this information if you completed the process. They are members of National Line Beta. I have their documents if needed which is their application and their dd214.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Due to the fact, how the owner of the Soroity didn't handle the process with truthfulness up front, and didn't have in writing up front what our 300.00 entailed until we start asking questions then she got in the defensive side, kept making excuses until we had to use court with her, I have all the information she sent your office. She asked us to let her know if we wanted a refund if we weren't going to comply with her added on after the cross over. I never said I wasn't a member. On paper, the way she handled things yes. When she could not
give us a truthful answer about our packages she got on the
defensive. Now we want our money back. She promised and that's all I want. My 300.00 nothing more nothing less.
