The doctors are wonderful but the front desk is the most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered They do not have any compassion and should not be working in psych or any customer service business A prison job might be good for that groupThe bad thing is that the doctors must realize that people will not continue to be treated badThere location is convenient but that's itThere are many other psychiatrist to choose fromI stopped going because I will not get treated like crap and then give you my money! Yes, I need your help but you will not treat me like I do not have feelings and matter
I was a patient at this practice in April They are a very busy officeI work at a medical practice, so I came in with my completed paperwork, copies of license and insurance cards and was prepared to pay a copay The front office staff were friendly but very busy and I was left in the waiting room for over an hour after my appointment timeI thought I was seeing a doctor when I made my appointment, however when I was finally called back, I saw an NP I was completely satisfied with her and her level of knowledge about my situation She made me feel extremely comfortable and I had talked for an hour before I realized the time had gone by The practice is convenient and beautiful Upon checking out, they were able to tell me what my copay was for that visit and my upcoming visit Again, I read the other comments and certainly don't want to discount someone elses experience, but I found the staff to be courteous, helpful and slightly overwhelmed...and I still felt that way after being left in the lobby for an hour

First Visit- took hours (if you go, get early appt, apparently they run very late towards the end of the day
I've left several messages and even gone by there and can't get anyone to return a call to explain a billing question and it's been over weeks
Have shown up for appts only to find out the person I was supposed to see is no longer there and I've been reassigned to someone else
Counselor got me confused with another patient and was addressing issues I didn't have Please read my file before I get there
The office staff are some of the most unpleasant people ever dealt with. In July 2014, I received a bill from them for $84.50, problem is I say them in January 2013. When calling to talk about how they can wait so long, I was told that it "fell through the cracks" and was submitted in mid 2014. However when looking up the claim it shows it was submitted 6 days after my visit. Also I have limited access to a plan that I haven't had in over a year. When you are there for you visit you pay or you don't see a doctor, period! So now it's pay up or it will be turned over for collection. Way to go Psychiatry South.
The doctors are ignorant to the medication they prescribe. They are unaware of the side effects. The staff from the administration down do not seem to care about the well being of their patients. I witnessed this first hand several times toward myself and others. I will make a formal report to the Alabama Board of Medicine & Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama. This provider has no business being on the preferred provider list for my insurance company.
My Dr. Is wonderful But the office staff is the WORST I have ever seen. I called for a refill on my prescription 6 or 7 time even telling them on the multiple voicemails I left that I could come in just to get a refill if they needed me too, I also left a message on THEIR webpage about this and NEVER got a call back, its been 4 weeks now! My primary the following Monday had to write a Rx for me after my pharmacy had to give me a emergency refill for 3 days. I have multiple health problems including a heart condition which would have been made worst if I had suddenly stop my medication. I was referred to this company by my wonderful Rheumatologist, who would have never referred me if he knew what would happen. So I suggest if you need medication for ANY medical condition that this "company" would write for you DO NOT need to go here! Absolutely do not go here for any medication or if you might need emergency medical attention!

Ok time to vent. One thing I dislike is unprofessional staff at a doctors office. First you never called back with appointment, but I call you back only 10 minutes before scheduled appointment nobody informed me of. Who ever I spoke with said go ahead and come. Get to office and you tell me I gotta reschedule because I'm late..... Really!!!! Then then office manager wants to argue with me like I'm telling a lie. Thank you Lord for telling me to walk out of that place arguing with a fool!!!!
