Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Now my response to the writer of the Letter to the Revdex.com. First of all my name is [redacted]s. Note the S on the end of my name as it is written on my ticket which you sent in addition to your response. I sent a carbon copy of the same receipt and a copy of the receipt from [redacted]. If you look at the receipt they sent you, you will see that they at some point after giving me the bill added in a second total and a tally of the surcharge total that they didn't write on my receipt. I also take it from their response they didn't believe me when I said I called [redacted] out to check their work. So I included that and the card of the supervisor who came out that same day.
The Baffle Repair, first off in the beginning I was never given the option to repair the baffle. I was told you couldn't repair the baffle so the tank had to be replaced. I didn't believe him because he thought his friend was buying the place. [redacted] told me all baffles can be repaired. It was going to be $175 for the repair and they repair cement baffles easily. So I hired him to come inspect it and then repair it if needed. He came out and said it didn't need to be repaired. It wasn't until I called the owner of PU the next day and argued with him on the phone that I was told by him it was repairable, and that he just doesn't do that. After still arguing about it he said he would repair it for me. At that point I was done and decided I didn't want him to do anything for me anymore as I couldn't trust him and we didn't speak again.
The surcharge, I'll start by saying that I was NOT made aware of the surcharge until after seeing the amount taken out of my account. I was going to over look the charge because I do understand the use of a surcharge, as you have to pay money to be able to accept cards. Yet because I was never given the option it's upsetting. I would have gladly written a check had I been informed. The money came out of the same account either way. I just ended up paying more because I was never made aware.
Now the call out fee. This is news to me, and as you are well aware I had nothing to do with the fact that you came out to my house 3 times. It was unintentional incompetence on your businesses part that caused that. My real estate agent and I where never made aware of this charge, ever. I also shouldn't be threatened to pay for the fact that your associate wasn't ever trained to know what he was looking at. On the other hand, your business was well aware of the fact that we only had an idea of where the tank might be. Your man only spent about 10 minutes max using his poking stick in the areas where it could have been. I even crawled under the house at his request to help find where the pipe outlet was aiming. My real estate agent got a quote from you on using the track ball because we figured we may have to use it. If you didn't figure in the time of finding the tank that’s on you. I was planning on paying your man to dig the hole after already digging two holes unsuccessfully earlier, but he insisted after finding the tank with the track ball that he had to go pump someone else's place that was overflowing. So I let him go do that and my brother and I dug to where the track ball was. Your associate never stood around waiting on me to do anything. I am not the one who was scheduling too much on the driver to where he felt pressured to do both jobs at once. The second time he left it was because he didn't know that we had only gotten to the front baffle hatch (where the track ball was) of which he pumped the tank from. So he said he had to ask his boss about it then he would be back the next day. Trip three was when I received my unannounced arrival two days later. Again, not something that was requested, caused or even remotely under my control as all I wanted was to have everything inspected and my tank pumped. I can't help but feel that this charge is nothing more than a veiled threat aimed at trying to make me feel like I got off lucky, yet it's not a deal when you are never made aware of it until after the fact when it's convenient for you.
Again, attached is a copy of the inspection report that [redacted] did later that same day after the tank had been pumped. The field supervisor who came out and inspected my tank told me that if someone needed to contact him that it was okay. Again, his card is also included in the PDF. PU is fully aware that [redacted] could not do a full inspection (which is what loans require) on the tank that had been pumped hours earlier. They obviously neglect that fact because they know that the tank has to be full check the drain field, and fully pumped to check the bottom of the tank. Both of those things are required in an inspection report. After hours of using toilets and sinks between the time PU was there and [redacted] came out, there was too much water in the bottom of the tank to check the bottom and it was only around 1/4 full at the time so they couldn't check the drain field, which should be done before you pump the tank.
If you want to stand on the fact that you believe the tank needs to be replaced, be my guest, but honestly your opinion on the matter doesn't mean anything because you have shown more than once that you cannot be trusted. I want the money back I paid [redacted] to check your work, and the amount over the amount I signed for (A Total of $87.15). The incompetence and deceptive practices are unbelievable and unacceptable. I'm not even asking for the cost of what I will be paying when I have to hire another septic company to do an actual inspection and pump my tank AGAIN.
Regards,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: I have underlined the inaccuracies in the response given by P.U. and made corrections in Bold.
P.U. Septic Service was contacted and was scheduled by [redacted] to pump his septic tank and do an inspection. As [redacted] did not want to dig up the lid to the septic tank So he requested this be done by P.U. Septic Service.
This statement is inaccurate. I informed P.U. At first contact that I did not know the location of the lid. I was told a map would be "no problem".
Our first step in helping the customer receive his request would be to call [redacted] * and request a copy of the septic permit for the customer address as we would not know the located of the tank on their property. [redacted] had no map on the property located at [redacted]. This is not the correct address. When a map was not available I should have been informed, instead I was blind sided when the employee arrived at the property. This leaves two ways to locate a septic tank.  1. Probing the ground with a metal probe. Which was done for [redacted] on trying to find his tank. 2. Use the flush ball or other devices to locate a tank. Our staff is trained in using the flush ball and locator. The employee failed to locate the tank and lost the flushball.     When there is a low spot, clog or other reasons the flush ball dose not make it to the tank. We then have to      use a tractor to dig up the pipe and follow it to the septic tank. The tank was located, pumped and inspected using an inspection camera, there were no obstructions, low spots or issues of any kind.     The staff member explained the cost and got permission from [redacted]. The flush ball was then flushed and got                  caught somewhere in the pipe leading to the tank. There was no ball in the line leading to the tank.    The staff member told [redacted] that we would need the tractor to dig down to the pipe and follow it out to the     the septic tank. This is not correct. The employee told me that the ball would stay charged for 24 hours and he would need [redacted] to come to the house in the morning to help him locate it. A second trip was never made. The tractor was not mentioned until [redacted] called and left a message the following day.    The cost at this point was $175.00 for a call out fee. The call out fee was never mentioned. When the request was made I was only given a total price for the job. Which is the driving time and fuel. We are located in Emmett,    Id. [redacted] property is located up in the Robie Creek area. About 1 1/2 hour drive one way. The driver probed     for about two hours looking for the septic tank before using a flush ball. Roughly 45 minutes of this time the employee was on my telephone trying to contact [redacted] for instructions. The cost of using the flush ball and indicator    was $125.00. The indicator was not even functional. I had to borrow 4 "C" batteries from a nieghbor so the employee could attempt to use it.   The staff member returned to office and [redacted] called [redacted] to set up a time when the tractor could be   use in finding the septic tank and recovering the flush ball. The cost of replacing the flush ball is $143.61. See    attached.[redacted] did not feel he should be charged for work done on his behalf in order for him to sell is home. Nor pay for our property ( flush ball ) now somewhere in his septic system.P.U. Septic received a call from [redacted] we believe she was a realtor complaining that the work was never done. The truth was the work was incomplete only because [redacted] was unwilling to pay for work done, and would not let us complete our job. Digging up the entire system was an unacceptable solution. Another company was hired that promptly located the tank without issue. The sale of the property was with an out standing bill of $375.00. [redacted] did not provide a clear title to the new owners. This is not accurate, the property was sold with a clear title. The work was requested after the closing.
You should note there are a few other complaints about P.U. Septic to the Revdex.com of this nature.

To whom it may concern, We were called out to pump, and inspect the septic system at[redacted] in Caldwell, Idaho 83607. It was a realtor named [redacted] that originally contacted us, requesting this service. She said that the home owner would be responsible for the bill, and that we...

should contact him to set up a good time to come out. We spoke with Mr. [redacted], and set an appointment for October 27. When we arrived at his property the lid to the tank was not exposed. We spent an hour there with him, while he tried to dig up the lid. Mr [redacted] had mentioned that he knew where the tank was, and eventually we had to use a flush ball to help him locate it. Our driver went on to the next job, and then returned to Mr [redacted]'s property in hopes that the lid was now exposed. At this time, it became clear that the tank was a very old type of tank, and not the standard type that we see on a regular basis. It was getting late into the evening, and Mr [redacted] was told that we would come back again, and that the owner of our company would also come have a look. When we returned, the owner inspected the tank, and found that the front baffle was not in good repair. Normally this would mean that the old baffle would be removed, and a new baffle installed, but in this instance the baffle was made of cement, and in order to remove it, you would have to damage the tank itself. The only solution is to replace the old outdated tank. The owner of our company did call Mr [redacted], and explained all of this to him. The driver that was also on the property had no previous experience with this type of tank, and told Mr [redacted] that if he had any questions, that it would be best if he called the office. Any time that we are called out to do a pump, we do a visual inspection, and notify the homeowner of any problems that we see. In the event of a sale, it is requested that we do a septic pump, and inspection, including a report that states rather or not the system is in good working order. This type of inspection is done to protect the potential buyer. We take it very seriously when this request is made. If Mr [redacted] called another septic company out to have a look, (in this case he says he called [redacted]), and they found nothing wrong with his tank, why did he not have them write up a passing inspection report at that time? It makes no sense. As to Mr [redacted]s complaints about charges. It is our policy to get a credit card number from every client at the time that they schedule an appointment. They are also told at that time that they are free to make payment via check, cash, or card. On the invoice that Mr [redacted] signed it is clearly stamped that there is a 3% surcharge on all credit card payments. It should also be noted that it is usually our policy to charge a callout fee very time we are called to the property. There were 3 separate trips made to Mr [redacted]'s property, which could have resulted in 3 charges of $75.00 each. It was the owner of our company that decided to waive these charges at this time to help Mr [redacted] out. We stand by our original findings that the septic tank at [redacted] Caldwell, Idaho 83607 is not in good working order, and needs to be replaced. Thank you, Stormy C[redacted]
